We installed the propane lines to our kitchen stove and on-demand water heater ~ our kitchen completely works now! The hardest part about the whole job was drilling through the floor of the bus, and tightening the fittings in such tight spaces. Mike could barely fit the tools or his hands into the small gaps and spaces! However, this job only took a few hours to complete, compared to several days with many of our other jobs. We celebrated by making coffee ~ and our first coffee montage EVER ~ in our fully functional kitchen!
Oh, and we just started our Etsy Store! We only have a couple things listed so far, but keep an eye out for more unique items coming soon...!

About Us:
Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We're building a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible! In other words, Bussy will not be parked in our driveway, waiting for weekend or holiday getaways... when we finish the build, we'll be packing everything we're keeping into the bus and driving away from this old house forever!
We plan to be boondocking the majority of the time, so you'll see that reflected in our choices throughout the build (100 gallon water tank, composting toilet, solar power system, etc). We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, throughout the Skoolie Build, and to Infinite Adventures Beyond!
Mike & Kerry

We loved the measurement you took to see how much water is wasted until it is hot - our thought was immediately to preserve that water for use elsewhere! Don't let it go to waste. Put it in the tea kettle for coffee, or put it into ice cube trays, or a water pitcher for drinking later! Just not down the drain having served no purpose! Every drop is precious! We are enjoying your build!

I have been downloading the sh*t out of your "videos" for future reference. lol. I have been very impressed with each of your projects to date. You are more than blessed to have such an array of tools/equipment and a workspace to utilize for the construction of / preparation of -components for install. Again, I am more than impressed. I am considering the possibility of, while in process of MY Skoolie build, (bus yet to be purchased) of writing a book on the subject as I move along. Don't be surprised if you hear from me (us) again! lol. We live in Michigan (presently) on a 10.5 acre parcel. Plenty of space for some friends to park. ;-)

The coffee making montage showed off that countertop so well. It looked gorgeous.😍 I was thinking about replacing my nasty tile kitchen counters with concrete, but now...🤔 I need to have a coffee and mull this over. I liked that Mike addressed those comments about the osmosis system. It would be cool if you would incorporate that more often. I’m always looking for your opinions on these discussions, but this is even better than replies-free delivery!😃 And also, it’d bring attention to interesting discussions that some may have missed. That said... Segments with discussion (and thinking back on the episode about the composting toilets, product presentation) make for a nice change of pace. And the static setting has to make them a lot easier to produce. Maybe you’ll do more of that? Which brings me to... I hope that you’ll one day do an episode in which you’ll talk about what your plans may be. Are you going to retire to the road? If so, are you keeping the house-and most importantly, the workshop?😄 I’m curious about how these projects fit into people’s lives. Presumably, all of your viewers are, at least, toying with the idea of taking up bus/van/tiny house life. It’s valuable to hear your thoughts on the lifestyle, as it is on matters of plumbing.

I always hated those hose clamps because it is a pain to get a screwdriver where it was needed and I seem to let it slip off and I jab my hand with the screwdriver...then I figured out a socket fits on there perfectly. A socket and ratchet, for me anyway, is much easier and quicker. It's also easy to "snake" an extension in-between obstacles or even use a bendy extension. Just a thought. Really like watching your progress, by the way.

Another great video Mike and Kerry. Glad the propane install went smoothly. I was surprised that you used hose clamps on the propane lines, wonder about leaks developing. I just have never seen that but I am sure you would not have used them if you didn't think they would be safe. Great job!

Mike, i saw one system where they installed a solenoid on a 15 second timer (relay) inline on the hot water tap. What this did was send the water back to the tank for the set time then out to the tap. This saved wasting any water at all. Just a thought :)

We taught our kids in the RV to get all wet then turn the water off, suds up your body first then your hair, turn water back on and rinse off. Otherwise they would fill our grey tank in two days. 😳🙄 With our corner shower I put in a big rubber maid tub, I filled half full and the kids below 10 got to take a bath in our shower. No water waste 👍🏻

Hi Mike and Kerry. Thanks for sharing your build. These videos as well as the "correction" video after it REALLY help us who are a couple steps behind you on this adventure. Here is some important information for you. The gas regulator vent should be facing down so water does not get into the diaphragm which it will the way you installed it, or you can go to a local Propane gas company (please do) and see if that regulator screen can be removed and vented downward using pipe. Also see what the code is for using the rubber hose indoors on a moving vehicle. Why get this far and create a potentially great problem by having gas blow by the diaphragm and ruin your build. Just helping and not being a jerk.

I would suggest using soapy water in a spray bottle and check all the fittings for leaks especially under the bus around the tanks. Because if you have a leak outside you may not smell it and you sure do not want a fire after all this work. 25 cents could save your lives.

Hey guys I do love your videos and have binged watched them haha. I don’t want to be a keyboard warrior. But I really think for your own safety you should re search better methods to install your gas. I am no expert but I don’t think the rubber hose on the barbs is the way to go. I would also recommend a carbon monoxide alarm.

@@BussyMcBusface I anticipate that when my wife and I hit the road (I am in technical b2b sales and can earn a paycheck with phone and mobile internet) we'll be able to live like royalty on 1/3 to 1/2 of current expenses. I think the key is going to be to move slowly and stay awhile and explore each locale. 7 to 10 mpg is not bad when you're moving your home, but would add up fast on a whirlwind tour. Moving slowly and deliberately and soaking up the vibe and experience of a place is my plan to make the adventure zen, stress free, and as cost effective as possible. We will have an old jeep with a roof top tent for side adventures. If I need to travel for work I'll find the nearest airport and fly to the meeting.

So does the end of your bus open up? mine does not open but now the sides open up in the very back on the outside. I do not have that tool to open the sides. If you have used this type of set up in the past and it has worked for you than disregard my comments. If this is new to you...then please rethink how you have run the propane lines.
