In tonight's video, I'm showing how I installed a set of Ridetech Subframe Connectors on my 1969 Firebird. These should work on any first generation F-Body. Music: www.bensound.com

Great video. I bought a set for my 69 camaro but have not installed them yet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but once you install them, you cover up the alignment hole on the rear that you use to align the subframe. If that's the case, you will need to find another point of reference to align your sub frame if you remove it after installing these.

Thank you. I'm not sure on the alignment hole. I'll have to look next time I'm under the car tho, cause now I curious.

@shaggyscarshop Thanks for the reply. From what I saw in your video, you covered it up. It looks like you may be able to use the oblong hole just behind the original alignment hole. Of course, you would have to have your Subframe perfectly aligned before installing the subframe connectors. After the installation, you can measure to the oblong hole and just remember that measurement for future reference.

Something that I am struggling with on my Nova is the placement of the front of the connector. The instructions and what you have done puts them on the bottom side of the top of the rail. But it seems like they would fit better on top of the rail… what are your thoughts?

I had to watch my video to see what I did again lol. Looking at it I think it would fit the other way. I think that they have you install it they way the instructions show so the bushings and bolt sandwich the subframe connector. That the only reason i can think of why they have you do it that way. Hopefully you can get them in and good luck. Mine fought me alot more than i showed in the video lol.

@@shaggyscarshop thanks for the reply! The only thing I can think that if I put it on top of the rail is that the bushings would deform because they wouldn’t be able to sit flat. Does that make sense to you?

@@alexgillott5340 Makes sense. I dunno, it might be worth reaching out to Ride Tech and see what they have to say on your situation.

Do you think these will are a difference? I Just bough a project 1967 Camaro and wondering if these are worth the price.

These were kinda pricey, but saying that in my opinion old unibody cars do need some stiffening, especially when you throw HP and torque at them. If you are doing a nut and bolt resto then it would be fine with out them. I especially like these because because they bolted in and required little to no modification. They make some that are weld in but then if you ever need to remove the subframe you have to cut welds and so on. Also, they are fairly low profile on the underside as well so I dont think it will have an effect on ride height. I say all of this with what i know so far; being still in the process of working on my car and a ways off from driving it.
