I think it's better for her to just have THIS show that she is doing. I see so many people wanting HGTV to give these amazing DIY KZbinrs their "own show" when really they have one, we all tune in every week, she makes money off her videos, she's in FULL control of the creative side of it, and the filming - if anything let's keep supporting her so that maybe she can hire an editor to help her manage her videos. I work for myself and wouldn't hand the reins of my business over to anyone no matter the good deal. Just food for thought - you're so right that she deserves every bit of success because she's such a hard worker and this is a true labor of love!

Yea! I had never thought about it like that before but it makes sense! I too prefer more information though. When people give me the bare basics it leaves me with more questions than I had in the beginning then they get frustrated when all they had to do was provide pertinent information 🤷‍♀️. I guess that's why my short stories turn long 😆. For example, this comment.

Great job! There is nothing you can't do if you tell yourself you can, if you tell yourself you can't...you won't. I think that is a quote from Henry Ford. When I redid our kitchen, I took everything out to stud and replaced it all myself (except for cabinet install and electrical). When I had a contractor come out to do some work in another part of the house he looked at my hardwood floors (that I put in, I nailed it my husband cut it) he thought it was professionally done, I just smiled and said nope did it myself! I still look at the floor and take pride in it, 9 years now and still looks great.

Macenna, I am so admired by your strength and what you can accomplish by yourself that I tell my husband when I grow up I want to be like you. I watch a company building a house from scratch and they have papers like you did in all the rooms. I know from experience that if your contractor says they don't need that you don't need that contractor because they don't read your plans. That is definitely not overboard!

Hi from France ! I'm also heavy renovating a house with my boyfriend, a stone house, ancient farm building. I'm so happy there are more and more examples of women doing works, and even doing it on their own! My boyfriend is away for a month and a half and I manage to do things by myself. I used to feel proud because I do those things while most of the girls I know couldn't, but that's not the right mindset, we need sorority. I now hope all of your videos can show us girls and women that we all can do it :) Also generally KZbin is full of tutoriels and examples so you can learn to do anything these days. Anyway, I love to follow your renovation MaCenna, keep going :D

You make me proud! I'm so impressed by the level of projects you've evolved to, not sure you've done such a big one before but you are one of the makers that inspire me. I've removed a cabinet in my kitchen that was blocking light and making the space small and dark. I feel so excited about this project and I've only started. You rock sister😘

Well done you are doing a brilliant job!!... I feel your pain...22 years ago we did a self build and I did a lot of things I had never done before, planning, arranging things, sourcing everything, the insulation, the noggins, all the cleaning, all the painting , I too laid the subfloor and insulation throughout the house....by myself...it's just been sold...and though I love it with all my heart ..my children have left home a long time ago and I rattled round in it for far too long...I hope the new owners love it like I have done ❤️

You have worked so incredibly hard MaCenna and I have watched every video along with you. I don’t think you’re going overboard at all. People make mistakes when things aren’t clearly communicated. What better way to remind them of exactly what you want than with visual aids? I think it’s a fantastic idea. I did a similar thing the last time I moved house knowing I would be too tired to explain what box went in what room to the movers I just labeled the rooms of the house to match the numbers on the boxes. They said it was fantastic and made everything go so much quicker. Visual aids are a winner hands down 😁

In New Zealand, when I laid tongue and groove boards on my floor, there was a special tool I could hire, which clamped to the joist, then could be used to crank the boards together. So you would nail it there, then move the special tool to the next joist, and crimp the boards together. I was using new boards, though.
