Installing Sharkbite Shut Off Valve and Inside Hose Bib from Copper to Pex

While replacing an outdoor leaky sillcock I decided to also add a shut off valve and indoor garden hose bib.

Sharkbite works phenomenally well, IF, IF you prepare everything correctly and install it correctly, as you’ve already learned previously lol good stuff!! I’m using sharkbite shutoffs pex to copper on my supply and exit lines on my water heater and it’s been a year so far with no issues. I do need to drain and replace my diode in the tank so that it lasts longer and with my hard water it’s a must!!! Appreciate the videos! God bless~

first thing you did wrong is sanding the end of the copper pipe, this is not recommended when using a shark bite fitting. it creates a profile on the pipe which can cause failure.

Was trying to DIY debur. I need to get one of those tools.
