Just subscribed. Definitely a cool setup. I’d like to install one on my 00’ F550 wrecker. I had to drop the tank last night and change the screens n strainer that was broken. I’d like to eliminate it.

Cam , when I drilled into mine, I drilled very slow. I got only a few plastic pieces in the edge of the tank. It was easy to clean without dropping the tank. For others that don’t have a hole yet! Just drill very slow! Clean up is easier with plastic particles! I used a metal file to de-bur the edges. 🥵

Just curious, I just bought the air dog 165 5G and got the beans diesel sump with return. Haven’t installed it on my 2010 ram 2500 trx4 yet. I’m really curious after 3 years have either of you had issues with the sump or air dog? Any leak problems? Any low fuel problems especially on hills?

I am going to do this and an airdog ii 4g. You think it would be better to run the return into the sump? My thinking is of you are low in fuel and accelerate all the fuel will go away from the sump but with a return going into the sump it should in theory have fuel no matter what?

It doesn't make a difference. In reality if your to the point where there is no fuel being sucked through the sump u have bigger problems haha but running the return to the sump vs the top side makes no difference

I have yet to have a diesel, but out 9 rams I have own/have owned I have always used Spicer. Never let me down. Just my opinion.

@@gilbert8477 my pleasure! I'm not saying anything bad about Moog, I love Moog. But since my old d series Dodges and first gen rams, Spicer made axles always had Spicer joints. Might just be my quirky side speaking, but it was already there might as well keep going with works.

when i did my u joints 2 years ago i went with moog u joints and they still are going good today, i grease them every 6 months or so and no issues. Ive heard good things about Splicer as well.

Bean's are pretty top notch but I plan on going with the G&R Diesel sump because of the return straw that keeps the returned fuel from causing turbulence at the fuel draw location. Made in USA quality is on par or better than Bean's as well. Just throwing it out there for people looking for options. Can't go wrong either way.

For the beans sump you don't have to run the return to the sump u can run the return to the top side of the tank at the fuel basket. That's how my truck was, that's why I had only one fuel line going to my airdog.

Im just now seeing this video cuz im searching around. BUT i saw your comment, and no one answered. In case you didn’t know yet, the biggest benefit of a sump is its way less work on your aftermarket Fass/airdog lift pump. It helps the pump stay quiet and have as little restriction as possible. This in turn helps with pump pressure, and pump longevity. Next is the fact you can suck the tank basically dry.
