How can I install my work origin on one of the EZ buttons? I have one programmed for home and one for parking, but don’t know how to setup the last button for my fence X/Y zero.
@MitchellsWoodwork3 ай бұрын
I’ve wanted to do something similar (go to work origin) via one of the buttons. Unfortunately, at this time these options aren’t available as ‘configurable user inputs’. There is a thread on the Masso user forum asking Masso to add these functions, and quite a few folks (including myself) have already added their names to this request. The more names we can get, the better our chances will be of getting these functions added. I hope you’ll create a user account (if you haven’t already) and add your name as well. forums.masso.com.au/threads/go-to-work-origin.3557/

Marty, great instructions, thank you for taking the time to explain every step. So many creators rush and leave out every step.

I would have added a short jumper wire from those three resistors to the power block. You could have used a tiny wire nut and did that beforehand. Then you wouldn’t have had to bend over those resistors at all. Just a thought! Awesome video as usual! Getting those close ups while doing the install must have been tricky. I also need to learn more video editing, like how to add those little “like & subscribe” animations and such.

You’re the second person to mention a jumper wire solution, so I’ll know better next time. Thanks for watching, as always!

I also came from Shapeoko and miss some of the features. Been watching your videos and have been moding my machine. Just ordered the EZ buttons and will try to figure out how to get the third button to brew coffee. If I have any luck I'll let ya know. Thanks for some great videos!

Pretty cool Masso is so configurable. I’m assuming these general purpose inputs are open collector and the resistor is acting as a weak pull-up and when the button is pressed it’s driven low. I would recommend a dab of solder on the twisted resistors and a single wire into the power pin, if I were doing it, but otherwise pretty cool. Love the utility!
@MitchellsWoodwork7 ай бұрын
The Masso is truly incredible, and I’ve only scratched the surface of what it’s capable of doing. I’ll have to let @sdasherx answer the electronics questions, though. Thanks for watching!

They are wired as recommended by Masso. I didn't use the resistors the first time and that caused some issues. It is not necessary to twist the resisters together but it will work the same either way.

I was hoping the "ez button" was for pressing to tell the machine what to do verbally, and it would set itself up for best workholding, program it's own toolpaths, set up it's own cutting tools, and produce a perfect part on 1st attempt without ever needing any inspection - just pooping parts out directly into a shipping boxes to be picked up by the mail man, to be delivered to customer same day
@sdasherx8 ай бұрын
The fourth button was for the genie that would do all of that but could only be pressed 3 times so it was removed. 🤣

I see on the Dash made etsy site in the video someone pushes the EZ button on the side of the masso controller and the cnc goes over and measures the bit on the tool changer. this is what I'm having trouble figuring out can
@MitchellsWoodwork6 ай бұрын
He has that button set to "home machine", then in F1 > Auto Tool Zero, he has "enable auto tool zero" checked. He's just homing the machine which automatically makes it go measure the tool.

Hey sir great video I'm getting ready to hook this up ,but I have a question how did you get it to turn on your Shop-Vac cuz that's what I want to use mine for but after the button how did you configure it from there if this makes sense Thank you
@MitchellsWoodwork6 ай бұрын
Just assign that button (input) to “Coolant Flood On”. To turn the vac off you can either assign a button to “Flood & Mist Off” or tap on the “Coolant Flood” button on your F2 screen. Hope this helps!
@fgbeetle6 ай бұрын
I get that but something has to trigger the IOT relay correct?
@MitchellsWoodwork6 ай бұрын
I'm not using an iOT relay on my setup. My Festool CT15 Dust Extractor is plugged into the vacuum port in the back of the black box. The "coolant flood" input activates the vacuum port on the black box.
