Installing the EGR-Side Window Weather Deflectors w/Paul Henderson 4K 9/2019

In this video, I will be installing the EGR-In Channel side window weather deflectors.
I will be installing them on my 2019 Chevy Silverado, All Star
Edition double cab. You will get 4 pieces 2 for the front doors 2 for the rear doors. They are very easy to install, they just slip up and into the channel. That's it......

Thanks. If you are looking to installing these on your vehicle. Just so you know, That when you first roll the windows up a few tines after the install, as with my trucks window motors there's a pressure sensor so it automatically rolls the window back down if the pressure is higher than normal. That is normal, that's because you have something in the track that is creating more resistance as the window is going up. And therefore the window sensor thinks that there is something in the way and rolls the window back down. Just keep them rolled up for a few days and it help seat the deflectors in place.

Nice, unlike the this video that took a couple hours to film.Just be sure to leave the windows closed completely for a few days to set the deflectors against the rubber seal in the channel..

They dont roll all the way up? I am looking for a set that will allow the window to close all the way but only leave it cracked open when I need to. Recommendations? TIA.

these EGR in channel wind deflectors work perfectly. I had the same thing happen when I first installed them. What you need to do is help the window go all the way up. Put on some plastic latex gloves to give you some grip and help the window go up. You need to keep it closed for I think it's a 2 to 4 days. What's happening is that extra plastic material from the window air deflector is taking up the space and it needs to compress the gasket that is inside the window frame. the reason why the window rolls back down is because it has a pressure sensitive and it thinks something's in the way

Or there are ones that you tape on the outside of the window frame actually we taping it to the paint not sure if you want to do that. if you plan on keeping your truck for a while I don't think stick on top ones are going to stay on.

Thanks. Looks like these are the "matte" instead of usual smoked plastic? How do you like the matte? Do they obstruct view in any way over the smoked? Oh, I hate rattles! Do they make any noise?

yes they do block a little bit of your view, not so much when on full size streets but when in a housing track or where there are small one lane each way streets looking right when you are making a left is kind of bad, you really have to look around them. But once you get used to it there not a problem had a few close calls when I first installed them. But now I'm used to them, so it's no problem now...

The passenger side front does a very small amount of noise. Seem to do it a high rate of speed and when the windows are cracked just a little bit. But barely noticeable.

No. Because the side window deflector is on the outside glass side. It doesn't touch the window tint at all.

Also what percentage tint did you use on your windows?

Medium on the sides and rear and the windshield got a light tint with a dark visor.

When u roll up your windows do they stop like an inch before they completely close?

No. They close all the way with no problems. I left them completely closed for a few day to seat the deflectors in the channel.

no. they close all the way. at first they might not close and in my trucks case they will go back down automatically, thats because of the pressure sensor for the motor. you need to close the window and leave it closed for a few days to seat the defectors.

I tried to put them on my 2020 and the front windows wouldn’t roll up.. i had to end up putting the ones on the outside and looks like crap.. my 2014 was a breeze and worked perfectly.

What it says in the directions is that you will have to leave them closed for a few days until they are seated against the rubber gasket or seal inside the door frame. That seal needs time to compress to give room for the window deflector. For about a week after I installed them, If i rolled the window down and back up they sometimes would roll back down because of the pressure sensor in the window motor. then for about a week after that if I rolled the window down and then tried to roll them back up they sometimes would go back down on its own, I would just help roll it up with my hands while using the up switch...it's been over a year and a half, haven't had any problem since....

Yes my 2006 was the same I didn't have any problem. I think that's because the space between the glass and the inner door seal is so tight on the 2019 Silverado trucks that once anything is put in that track it will increase the pressure it take to close the window and the pressure sensor on the motor thinks that there's something in the way. You just didn't wait long enough but the windows being closed for those seals inside that track to stay compressed. Too bad about the outside stick on ones because they do suck and that's why I didn't put them on my truck.

Yes when I’d try to roll the window up it would back off with sensor 🤦🏻‍♂️.. The rear on my driver side is already starting to peel a little, and I cleaned it well before installing. I’m about to pull em off and use 3M wheel to remove adhesive. Thanks for your input 👌🏻

Great video.... Do you find that the matte black causes a blind spot?

Yes it does kinda.. Basically the only time that it gets in my way is when I'm making a left on small streets like where all the dealerships are by my house... Or the small t-intersection leaving my neighborhood...But now I'm used to looking around it...had a two close calls the first week of installation... And one was by the dealership and like I said the other one was by that t-intersection by my house.. now I just double check before I proceed.

@@mannyb4959 that's great to hear..just the other day when I was getting into my truck at the Gym, a guy with a 2021 Silverado was asking me about the side deflectors and the other accessories I had installed. said he is definitely going to order the window and hood reflectors.... He was parked right next to my truck same color looked weird to see one so naked no fog lamps. No recovery hooks in the front no tinted windshield or sun visor no hood guard no nothing... It just looks so naked, and then realize how playing my truck looked until I started doing all that stuff to it. I have one more thing to install and that is the GM factory cold air intake that I bought last year and then I'm all done at least buying stuff for it.

After I read what your original post of what happened I went out and removed mine from the truck and re-installed it. You would thing that after it has been on the truck and exposed to the elements for over two years that it would have snapped but it didn't. So that proves that the one you received a defective piece.

The front it wouldn't have made a difference but the rear I'm sure it would help with the tape that is on the deflector. Didn't even think of that.

Thanks. I totally agree. I,m still finding out new things that the info-tainment system does. I can link it to my phone using the ANDROID AUTO app and my truck is hot spot for internet use.. How cool is that.but of course it has an internet fee. It's a small fee.
