❤ GR8 VID ❤ LOVED IT ❤ reminded me when I cut a hole in my roof for a dometic air conditioner but a year later took it off and welded back the steel to close up the hole because I only used the AC twice and I preferred having the storage area in the roof rack for tents, canopies, tables, chairs and benches. My side windows gave me more than enough airflow and storage is precious. I love these van build videos because they remind me of all the revisions i had to make as I figured out what I wanted, and the later decisions made to fix mistakes or just improve on what I had done ❤

Your reaction @8:37 of you opening the roof fan just made me melt. Watching these van builds is not only nice to see the finish but seeing people’s pride in what their achieving. You guys are doing amazing 👍

MrStreetboy thank you so much, that’s such a beautiful comment to read! We were so happy it opened! After all the worry about actually doing it, you realise it’s not as bad as you think :) think that goes for most of the van build come to think about it! 😋

You made it look so easy, but I have a feeling that it’s more difficult than you made it look. Well done!

This was actually one of the easier jobs! We put it off for so long, but wish we'd done it sooner.

Looks great! I am just about to fit my vent a bit scared haha. What size timber did you use for the vent housing?

Hi, Great video thanks! I was wondering how has the vent been, Is the 28 big enough? I can't decide between this or a 40 Many thanks

Hi, enjoyed the video, can I ask how did you wire the fan, is it just connected to a positive and negative connection for the power. Cheers 🍻 Anthony

Hey guys, thanks for all the great content! I have the same fan and I'm on try number two :( of installing it and it is still leaking! It seems like its coming from no where as I did some water tests myself with a jug of water and it only leaked when I poured it on to the hinges and not when I pooled it around the fan / van roof where the sealant is. Using mastic then Sikaflex 512. Any advice would be really appreciated I am a bit lost as to what I can do next

Hey guys! Could you tell me the sizing of the wood you used as the template inside? I've just ordered the same vent and have the same van as you. Thanks alot
@OverlandingSophia Жыл бұрын
Hello! Just asked Ben and we think it was 2x2" - don't think we would have used anything else. But it's quite a long time ago now so our memories are a little rusty!

Massive inspiration for our new van! We are about to fit our roof vent, any chance you remember the size of the wooden frame you built for it? Thanks!
@OverlandingSophia4 жыл бұрын
Hi Katherine! Ah thank you so much, hope your build is going well and not being hampered by lockdowns too much. We have the Fiamma Turbo Roof Vent 28, so the wooden frame was created to match the inside of the vent 😊

Hi, can the fan operate when the vent in closed? Cheers
@OverlandingSophia3 жыл бұрын
Hi James! We don't have this fan anymore, we upgraded to the Maxx air fan which in our opinion is SO much better. If I remember correctly, this fan didn't work with the vent closed 👍

@@OverlandingSophia Hi, thanks very much. We are also going with a Maxx air fan for our main one. We're looking to put this in the shower as a vent/sky light/extractor fan. Appreciate the help though

😁 sat here with a massive smile on my face knowing the emotions you went through cutting that out and the emotion of man I bloody done it 😊, really pleased for you is an understatement sat here feeling proud of you and I don't know why 😂 and the vent opening passed the bars 🙈 go on tell me you planed it 🤣 only joking , I know you couldn't use a jigsaw from up top and my heart sank when you said angle grinder I thought nooooo but you did put up plastic👍 hope you picked up every bit of swarf that stuff will start rust anywhere 😉 another good video thanks both your smashing it ❤️✌️ Woooop woooooop 😁😁😁😁 Check out the vent installers 👍

Thanks Brett! Nope, we didn't plan it, just one of those 'wing it and see' moments. Thankfully this one worked out! Haha I know what you mean about the angle grinder! We couldn't get a jigsaw up there with where the van is parked, but we did have an angle grinder to hand so had to just go for it, even if it's a bit overkill. Put loads of plastic on the walls and on the floor, caught every bit of swarf we could! We watched your video first as well to give us some motivation 😀Thanks for the encouragement as always.

Hi guys. Great videos and lovely van build :) I just wanted to ask, how have you found the Fiamma Turbo 28? Did you purchase the newer version which even has a small amount of ventilation when closed? And how have you found the build quality and quality of fixings/cover when it's raining? Any feedback would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

Is that 6 weeks full time? Or six weeks in the evenings? Edit: Also, this playlist is kinda backwards, youtube plays it from episode 18 down to episode 1
@OverlandingSophia4 жыл бұрын
I've been trying to sort the playlist bug out for ages... I think if you click into the playlist you can order it by 'Date Published' and then that plays it in the correct order for you. Been trying to change it on my end but can't seem to. But anyway, could you clarify by what you meant by 6 weeks full time/ evenings? Chesca x
@PezCuckow4 жыл бұрын
@@OverlandingSophia Aah yes that worked, thank you. I think in the video you mentioned six months of work, I was just wondering if that was full time or you were doing it in the evenings and weekends!
