Finally someone gives accurate information on the results of this mod. Adding the front inlet to the airbox simply allows slightly cooler air in to the intake versus the air coming in from the bottom. It doesn't increase air flow or density.

It's not an oiled filter for the paper filter. It's the PCV system that gets them real dirty. So please lol. Do not oil the paper filter or you'll ruin you intake sensors 👏🏻😅💯

I have the hellcat lower box and headlight pass-through on my Challenger GT. Anyone use this setup in the winter/snow? Wondering about road spray, slush and salt buildup in the box.

@@jminkvihubyb I took my chances. 2nd winter no issues. I just clean and oil my filter in spring.

@@jminkvihubyb actually it's my 3rd winter come to think of it. Like I said, clean the filter every spring and do full synthetic oil changes in spring and fall. No issues at all.

Bro, air adds horsepower. Not much. But it’s definitely a gain. That’s the whole point of cold air intakes, splitters, spoilers, and even exhaust systems. The whole point is to manipulate air flow for higher gains.

No Tune = very little gain. I still need a Throttlebody upgrade and tune to really take advantage of the more air flow.

OmegaGreed yeah, the Hellcat throttle-body should’ve been put on the moment you put in the Hellcat air filter box. You can also order the tuning kit from Diablosport if you want a quick pre-programmed tune. But still, anything you add to it to manipulate air flow will still add horsepower. The intake probably adds about 3-4 HP. That’s not a noticeable difference. But when you add the throttle body, a new exhaust system, splitters, etc. then that could easily give you a 20+ horsepower gain even without the tune. The tune is just icing on the cake. But I wouldn’t even get a tune until I fully modify it to my liking.

@@heatlifer3640 not sure if you should needs a tune. The oxygen sensor should detect the colder temperature and adjust the system accordingly. Just like it had to adjust to weather temperature changes.

Stock doesn't pull from the engine compartment, there is a duct in the bottom of the box that pulls outside air. The hellcat headlight tube just allows additional air through the headlight opening. It will further reduce intake air temp at road speed, good mod, either Mopar CAI or Hellcat box/tube. Hellcat not as much cool factor, but much less expensive.

The oil in your air box is Blow by your old filter is a Fram air filter and is not supposed to have oil on it the k&n is supposed to have oil on it

A Oil catch can will take care of that, don't know for sure but I believe it's under $100 and extremely easy to install 👍🏻

Did you upgrade the throttle body air intake? i think that is what it is called (new to the car scene lol). I've heard that upgrading the airbox alone you wont see much if any difference.

Swervin' With Sav I thought about that too, but it would be really hard for water to travel up the bottom section of the airbox through the air filter and through the intake tube to the engine. Unless there is a rain storm where water is being pumped all the way in the hole I think it should be fine.

It doesn't go through the Filter that's why u have it in. Only thing is that u have to change the Filter more often but if u buy the K&N u good.
