I watched dozen of videos, your is by far the best. Best quality, best angles and great step-by-step explanation. I used the liquid thread sealer and waited 4 days. Yes, a bit overboard there with the cure time/waiting. The end result was absolutely zero leaks, zero issues, zero problems. Everything you laid out was on the spot. I got the 5000 TLX to lift my 2006 Mustang which I did while sh!tt!ng bricks, just like you. All went well and smooth. The key is double check and triple check, then bleed, bleed, and bleed that hydraulic pump. One more thing, these puppies are heavy! Holy cow, I am 59 and still strong, with no issues lifting them, but dang a few more yrs down the road and who knows. Question: why did you go with the 7,000lb over the 5,000? They're about the same price, but the clearance is a little better (.5") on the 5,000lb. I was ready to go with the 7,000lb... but my Mustang's on coilovers, and that .5" is really going to make a difference. So yea, does the 7k version seem sturdier/safer? Really appreciate you making this sir!

@@jimdshea No problem!! :) I went with the 7000TLX as it provides an extra half inch of lift, 24.5" versus 24", and also I plan to use it for my Ford Explorer SUV and possibly other larger cars. For me the 3" vs 3.5" clearance isn't as much of a big deal as my ZL1 isn't slammed to the ground or anything to extreme. And if I do end up dropping it, I can always just lay boards down or whatever if I wanted for me to drive the tires onto which would give me some additional clearance. I actually do that for the front tires so I can use the taller blocks to get me even more height when the car is in the air :D As for sturdiness, I'm sure both are just about equally sturdy for their rated lift capacities.

Excellent video!!! Note cylinders should point toward the heavy end of the car. For most people that is the front of the car. For rear engine cars they should point to the rear of the car.

Do you notice any wear on the bottom of the quick jacks from sliding them around? I’m interested but would be on pavement for most my work. I wish they came with bearings on the bottom. I’m just concerned the scraping would lead to eventual rust etc.

No.. no weird or excessive wear. I do use mine on Swisstrax floor tiles which I'm sure helps but tons of people use them on pavement without any issues that I've ever heard of. You could be exceptionally careful with them and add perhaps some paint protective film to the frames maybe? Or.. I've seen some people mod on caster wheels (zip tie them on or whatever) to slide it around on wheels under the car to get them into place... Also, I just found something called the "QuickJack GlideRide Caster System" on Etsy, www.etsy.com/listing/1451751100/quickjack-glideride-caster-system-smooth, which seems to offer a direct bolt on solution. They have a video on it at kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZC9ppWCh7OEq5Y. I haven't tried this myself but am tempted :D

If they really wanted to, the factory could assemble the hoses and the connectors and even install the hoses on those rails before shipping.

Possibly! I didn't have any difficulty with hose assembly but I figure they don't pre-assemble them for a few reasons... Cost and potential shipping related issues. If you assemble hose wrong and derp it up it's on you.. if they assemble and attach everything it may induce leaks as they may work loose in shipping and people setting up their quick jacks probably won't check any of the assembled connections and go to lift and poof they get a leak and then need warranty work, replacement, etc. Just my thoughts.

Question for ya dude…So I have my 7000TLX all setup (your video combined with the docs was fantastic, so thanks)…All seems well, no leaks, they are going up smooth etc…I have yet to put the weight of a car on it (I get the car in a couple days)…Currently I bring the lift down and have to help it a bit, and then once it’s fully down I hold the down button for a bit longer to make sure as much fluid as possible goes back into the reservoir. I originally had the fluid level about a half inch below the fill hole of the reservoir like the docs said…I lost perhaps a bit after that point during the bleeding, but not a ton. Much to my surprise there is now an inch, or slightly more, between the fill hole and the level of the fluid now when the lift is down…I guess fluid is just remaining in the lines despite holding the down button for a while after it is down? Would bringing it down with the weight of a car drive more fluid out of the lines than my current no car on the lift scenario ya figure? Ultimately I’m trying to decide if I should re-top it up to a half inch below the opening when it’s in the down position. I just wanna be cautious because, my god, there are some horrible videos out there with people putting too much fluid in and the thing coating their car and ceiling in fluid, blowing up etc….Lol, terrible

No problem! :) My guess is there is still a good amount of fluid in the lines and everything so I wouldn't worry about it. I'd see how it lifts and monitor it and if it functions and lifts fine you should be good to go. I'd rather be a little low and it functioning fine than overfilled and it blowing up or popping a line or something lol.

Though they are quick disconnect hoses so usually I move the frames under car, snap in the quick connection hoses, lift car up, and if the car will be up for a day or more, I'll disconnect the quick connect hoses and move them out of the way. Not to bad... and having them out the back means I can just open my garage door and lay the pump and everything out in the driveway with plenty of room. Guess it really depends on ones setup and what not :D

Thank you! I'm not sure the dB level but it's not loud at all and only makes noise as u lift and lower. U hit button it lifts and the pump makes sound but it's way way quieter than a compressor. Once u let go of button no more sound.

The quick jack comes with a set of the regular square block pads that sit in the quick jack... Or are you referring to the zl1addons pinch weld lift pads? If so I'd def always recommend these OR add the quick jack pinch weld blocks.

Hello, very informational video! You did use the sealant on the 90-degree elbow JIC fittings. According to the manual you should not use it there. So, should you use it there or not? Did you have any issue with the JIC fittings with the sealant been applied to it? Thank you in advanced.

Also did you have an issue with the block sliding as the lift goes up and the block decompressing to much that the frame of the lift settled on the side skirts? I just got the same lift and first time lifting my ZL1 today. I tried the mid sized blocks but frame of lift was hitting side skirts. Then I went with the taller rubber blocks but one on the pass side front was not centered and it decompressed and started to settle on my side skirt. Wondering if you have any suggestions so that does not happen. I quickly lowered the car back down and no damage was done but was a little scared it might if I left it alone that way. LOL Thanks Again

@jasper_colorado Heya! I use the tall blocks paired with the pinch weld blocks that are attached to my pinch weld full time. Zero issues with the blocks moving but I raise the lift up so it's just about but not quite touching the pinch weld blocks on the car and then move the blocks on the lift so they are as centered as possible and then I raise the lift a tad more so it's just beginning to push the body of the car up and then double check everything is still good and centered and then I continue lifting and checking continuously. Often I drive the front part of the car up onto some wood or something to raise the front a bit more so I can fit the lift under the car with the tall blocks in place.

I know how you feel about the delivery issue with FedEx, they’re the worst!!! I’m also waiting for my replacement hydraulic pump box with the hoses. I’m a USPS carrier with a business route and all my customers tell me how FedEx is the worst with losing and more than likely stolen items.

It’ll help me a lot with mine whenever FedEx decides to deliver what I’m missing. Do you regret getting the TLX instead of the TL? I ask cause I was gonna get the TLX but a few people mentioned how you won’t need it. It’ll just be extra weight. Even though one of my vehicles is a pickup they still tell me I’ll be fine and if anything to buy an extension (easy for them to say $$$). What’s your opinion now that you have the TLX? As it is my 7000TL stands weigh like a Mother- - - - - -!

And no regrets from me with the TLX :D When I look at the weight differences between the 2 it shows they both weigh 98lbs per frame so I'm not sure if that is not accurate or not, lol. Shipping weight difference is about 25lbs different between the entire unit so I'd think each frame is probably 12lbs or so heavier for the TLX over the TL. The best suggestion would be to just measure the lift point spreads of all your vehicles that you plan and go with the unit that best matches your vehicles lift points :D

@Fix & Travels no problem, any time! As long as your spread points are good you should be fine. The tl is still a pretty good size so it may not even need extensions for your truck. They also do sell truck/suv lift extensions that help get trucks and suvs higher in the air that you may want to check out as well.

Thank you! I use the "tall blocks" whatever height those ones are, lol. They are too tall for the front to let the frame with blocks slide under the car so I actually drive the front wheels up on a couple pieces of wood or something to clear the frame and tall blocks enough to fit under the car and in place before lifting the car up.

The demo in this video is NOT fully following the procedure outlined in the manual. At least not in the manual that came with mine. Yes, they should store under the car pushed together at the centerline without any issue. The power unit would of course need to be stored elsewhere.

Great great video and thank you for it! Did you have to add anymore atf to the tank or did you stick with the 2 quarts? How far do you unscrew your air vent cap on your tank when using your Quickjack? I know it says 1/2 a turn in the manual but a guy on KZbin said his didn't vent properly until he opened his 4 full turns until it vented properly.

Thank you! I believe it was 2 bottles... I believe they call for filling it to about a half inch below the top (and no higher as there needs to be room for the fluid to flow to/from the hoses and lifts and the tank with some room for the variance between). As for the air vent cap... I believe the 120v system comes with a self venting cap and you only remove it to fill the unit with fluid and then tighten it back once finished, no loosening of the cap is done for any venting. I believe maybe the DC pump unit if chosen has the breather valve cap that you need to loosen before use. What power unit did you select with your system?

@@D3RPZILLA I have the 110v power unit with the same vent cap as you have on yours which is not self venting which is why I asked you how far you open yours up. So have you not been opening yours while using your Quickjack? Or have you been opening it and how far?

@@bryans8193 Ok, my bad, I just went out into my garage and looked and you are right, it IS the cap with the breather valve :D It's been a little while since assembly and my brain must of memory dumped everything about the cap, lol. Seems I misread the instruction book as well, LOL. I guess the image of the cap with the hole in the center had me confused, oops. I'll need to add a note to the video description regarding this. Anyways, back to your question, I just checked as mentions and the breather valve IS opened up (I don't recall adjusting it but it seems I must have) and it looks like I've been running it opened a couple turns (I spun it down and back open and it seems like it was a few turns, def more than a half turn). Could be one of those things where every unit it slightly different and you need to tweak it and see what works best for your specific unit. Thank you for getting me to look at everything again! :)

The guy I referenced before about the 4 turns on his vent cap before it vented properly said his tank was actually collapsing before he fine tuned it and I definitely didn't want that happening. I have noticed a few other videos of people using Quickjacks and have noticed a few different people using them wrong (lifting with the car facing the wrong direction, etc), so I tried to point out as much as I could in this video :D So far zero issues thankfully. I have lifted my ZL1 and my wife's Mustang with this setup a number of times and it's been flawless. I haven't tried to lift my Explorer yet but may need to eventually and believe it will work just fine (with the truck/suv adapter kit).

I kind of rambled on a bit but I wanted to be sure to really show the full install in detail and cover all the little possible "gotcha" items and before I knew it while editing I was like, "Dang... this thing is going to be long as F!" haha. Figured I may as well throw in the wall mount stuff as well as the official video on them by QuickJack is like.. measure.. POOF it's done here we are.. and that was with what looked like the smallest set which is much lighter and easier :D I'd def suggest the TLX or the super long ELX ones if you don't have any shorter cars or big trucks to worry about. TLX seemed about perfect for most applications. Well damn.. even my replies are to long! HAHA.

Ive tried using the QuickJack on my 19 SS before and it didnt seem like the QuickJack was long enough to reach my ZL1Addons jack points. Are your fronts at the furthest most point or are they at the second opening closer to the middle of the vehicle? Edit: 1 minute after typing this comment I found the part of the vehicle that explained that you moved the pinch weld lift points closer to the middle of the body. Thank you for this video!

It seems like the cheapest one I could find which is the 5000TLX is most likely the one my buddy has. It has the same lift point spread of 43"-66" has your model 7000TLX. Seems like I just need to move my ZL1 lift points to make it work.

No need to spend 60 bucks on a hanger, they nickel & dime you to death! I put two Eye bolts, one on each side and then took a bungee cord, i already had, to secure it from falling forward. All you have to do is lean the jacks in the wall, no need to left it on to the hooks.

I have the TL and I'd say it's ok, but only if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the vehicle drops to the ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity. I still have it in my shop, but the company worked very hard to make me regret my purchase and it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it. And honestly the setup is inconvenient enough that even when I do pull it out - warts and all - it happens very rarely. Only when I have a longer term project where I know the vehicle will be on the lift for a week or two. Definitely not for things like oil or tire changes. It's just way quicker to use a floor jack, or even ramps.

Sorry to hear about all of the trouble!! Wow.. def not cool at all :-/ I guess I am one of the lucky ones and have not had any issues as of yet. I've lifted my cars up 20-30 times or so and it's been perfect every time. I would of much rather had a 2 post lift but my post tension foundation prevents me really from wanting to try and drill into the floor to mount one, sadly.

What do you mean jacks in the middle of the car? The QuickJack frames are rock solid and locked into place with a locking bar. When I have my car up in the air I do slide in my RacingRamp wheel stays under every wheel so even if somehow the QuickJack frames and/or locks were to explode during a natural disaster or something crazy the car would fall only a cm or 2 onto the wheel stays.

If you look at how you place the them, you’ll notice that the rails are not in the middle underneath the vehicle. See how close the upper rail is to the rear tire? And how much space at the front tire compared to the rear one.

@@webdesign7658 Unfortunately one can only lift the car from the specific jack lift points, which I utilized, and that fit between the lift sections of the QuickJack. I also made sure the blocks on the QuickJack are centered on the lift platform on each end.
