Pete, where is the engine serial number on the Perkins AD3.152? I can not find it on my Massey 231. Ordering parts to replace the head gasket. Thanks!

Can you replace rings with the engine in the frame
@cheaphomesteading3 жыл бұрын
As far as I remember you can. You just have to get the two studs out of the front axle hanger and then drop the pan. Remove the head Then you should be able to get the pistons out.

can the oilpan been take it down without ang take out the all engine
@cheaphomesteading3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the oil pan can be removed you just have to screw the studs out of the front of the axle and then remove the rest of the bolts in the oil pan and bell housing then it will come down. Thanks for watching man

HI again, I may plan a similar job in the next month and I see parts are quite heavy to be handled without a forklift so I was thinking about:- Install the flywheel and clutch - Install the engine block (with onboard already installed crankshaft and new pistons)- Put the engine on the tractor so it will hang on the transmission.- After this I will install the pan, the timing and the complete head Is this a viable option? Thx you so much
@cheaphomesteading5 жыл бұрын
Ya that should work. Installing the block crank pistons flywheel on trans then install timing gears,cover and oil pan. Then you can install the head.
@giemme44925 жыл бұрын
yep! is the pan so "plenty heavy"?
