Their app isn’t the caliber of SONOS but it’s also a fraction of the cost too.

Can you please get OSD to send Erin at Erin's Audio Corner some In-wall/on wall speakers to test on his Klippel NFS? That would be ideal!

I can get him in contact with OSD if he is interested in measuring their inwall speakers.

You ever test the power output of these amp? I have trouble believing that little thin amp can push 250 x2 at 8 ohms. Hows that even possible?

How do the subwoofers sound?

They are definitely nice. Nothing super high end, but the mains and rock speakers definitely benefit from these subs to fill in the lower frequencies.

@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
Correct. The SRT4 is a media streamer. I will be connecting Zone 4 from it into one of my Marantz AV7705 inputs to stream music into the theater room. The AV7705 has built in Airplay2 but this would allow me to stream music inside and outside the house at the same time and control each zone from the app

@@Youthman will you also be doing a review of osd black power amp for home theater or no?
@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have an OSD home theater amp in for review
@jamesrobinson15793 жыл бұрын
LOL I have to reiterate that driving 8 speakers from 2 channels of a 4 channel amp, and 4 speakers to a bridged 8 channel amp is counterintuitive and unnecessarily complex.
@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
Just curious, what OSD amps would you have used to power (8) speakers, (4) Rock speakers and (2) subwoofers?
@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
Speaking with OSD, the XMP500DSP is a 2ch amplifier, even though h It has A/B or A+B switching.
@jamesrobinson15793 жыл бұрын
@@Youthman Oh I am not familiar with the product line or the company at all... I just feel like that seems excessively complex. I am not saying it is incorrect but it does appear that a big stereo amplifier for 2 subs and an 8 or 4 channel for the 8 speakers would have been simpler... and easier to troubleshoot and fix if a speaker wire is ever compromised. (definitely possible outdoors)
@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
As with any system, there are multiple ways to design and configure it to achieve the same goal. OSD designed the system and I figure since they know their products and do this every day (and I have never designed a multi-speaker, multi-zone outdoor system), I would rely on their expertise.
@Youthman3 жыл бұрын
Looking at their products, the XMP500DSP is their largest stereo amplifier (even though it might appear as a 4ch amp (that’s what I assumed as well until I asked them about it when I was shooting the video). Likewise they do not sell a 4ch amplifier so using their highest powered 8ch amplifier and bridging each pair makes sense to me.
