Installing the Rockford Fosgate system to the Low Rider ST!

On this week's episode, we try our best efforts to give you step by step instructions on how to install the Rockford Fosgate audio system on the new Low Rider ST. I'll just say this, having the right tools will greatly decrease the time it will take you to complete the job. Lesson learned.

Thanks for the install vid. I actually just pulled the white plug out of the wire harness then pulled the empty pin out. This is way easier. You're not going to pull out the pins. No reason to use a needle or special tool.

So…. Not exactly what I would call plug and play. Lol. Thanks for taking one for the team. I bought a de-pin tool, and honestly a safety pin worked a bit better. But it definitely tests my patience. I’m still on the fence on this product.

I haven't had any problems with it on an iPhone but with my pixel, It only gets half as loud for some reason.

I just finished my install - went through hell with those pin removal process…ughhhh. Great sound system!

Oh yeah, a couple hour job turned into a half day job once I got to those connectors. But it's all good.

I have a 20 Street Bob and it's one of my major gripes that the battery terminals are so difficult to access. When I purchased heated gear the sales person could not understand why I thought the battery was so hard to access. You know why, he was used to older Harleys when you just popped off the seat and voila there they were. That's the way it should be.

Just purchased the Low Rider ST, but Harly neglected to add audio which was a terrible mistake on this amazing bike~ What happened to a sample of the audio???

Is their a spot to run a usb cord to power phone? Or ya gotta purchase separate harness and run from battery up to phone?

If you look under the front left of the tank, you will see a USB port with a water proof cover on it. All Softail m8 models should have one in that same spot.

What was the total install time? Harley quoted me about 4 to 5 hours.

About 20 minutes until I had to take the first pin out of the first connector and then about 3 hours later I got to the second pin and that took me another 2 hours. But if you have all the right tools it would probably take you 3-4 hours max.

De pinning isn’t a giant deal, but makes the kit literally not plug and play and falsely advertised. Shame on Harley for this one.

My low rider ass has a red wire in pen 11 Any ideas

The top goes one thru whatever from left to right then the bottom goes x to x left to right. If you're looking at the correct connector only a plastic insert should be there to remove nothing else.

Thanks for the reply , i’m definitely looking at the correct wire harness, even watching your video I’m looking at the identical same thing you plug into however mine does have a red wire sticking in there and then to the left of that which should be the fourth hole on the bottom that has a plastic, I wish I could upload a picture and show you

So apparently you and I are both right, once again I appreciate the help. It looks like built models i.e. July and newer of this year 2022 we’re actually built with an exhilarate cord so there’s no need to use the front wire harness at all on the Rockford Fosgate. Hatley knew it would be such a big hit that so I guess why the el Diablo comes with the radio out of the factory. Once again great video you did a great job but the little newer models like I have come with a factory auxiliary cord built-in that you plug directly into the amplifier so there is no need for the front cord that it comes with thank you so much for your help
