I think the fact that those red pieces can slide up is for the emergency pull tabs on the cheek pads. It allows emergency personnel to pull the cheek liners straight down from the helmet. People should not glue them in place.
@arthurcoldwells13265 жыл бұрын
Jonathan Long you are right of course... the key is to use a weak glue that holds the interior in place but is also super easy to overcome in an emergency. Truth is, the idea is great, but in the real world when the lining keeps slipping its super annoying, so until HJC tweak the design, a little spot of glue is a good compromise.

Thank you so much. This is by far the best video on KZbin for Bluetooth installation on the RPHA70. I was so afraid to pull the guts out of my helmet, as I was afraid I'd never get it back in the right way. You made me feel so much better. Thank you, seriously.

@@Swisha90s Don't be scared. I've done it twice now. The first time took me a couple hours, and I was stressed the whole time. The second installation took me about 12 minutes, and it was easy. If you have a helmet with the emergency cheek pads, it makes it way harder, cuz they're a pain to get back in. If it's just a regular helmet, there's really nothing to it.

Came across this video and it was very helpful installing SENA 30K to 2019 RPHA 70 helmet. I had to cut (small) plastic to get left check pad inside, with a cut I was able to go around the speakers wires. Much appreciate your video and thumbs up !

Yeah so you gluing the red tabs in completely ruins the function of the emergency pull off feature of the cheek pads. Should not be glued in.

By putting glue on the little orange tabs did you ruin the emergency cheek pad system? Isn't that why those orange clips slide out???
@arthurcoldwells13266 жыл бұрын
Very good question! I'm actually not sure if that's why the poppers slide out or not. However, the small dab of glue I use does not seem to compromise the emergency removal system at all as it is easily overcome; it really seems to make almost no difference. Based on this I wouldn't recommend using a really strong bonding resin or some kind of tape that really can't be overcome. Actually, the glue I use is so light that I've found I have to go back occasionally and do it again as it breaks down pretty easily. I love the HJC RPHA series, they fit really well and are very comfortable; they are also the quietest helmets I own. However, the cheekpad poppers do slide out quite often when taking the helmet on/off, and so something has to be done to mitigate that a bit. Thanks for asking--great observation!

I have an identical helmet.Only I have and hjc fg st helmet.RPHA 70 is for the class above. Better (comfy), lighter (1450gr.), smaller dimensions, better ventilation, peripheral look better ... Do not take for a number helmet bigger. Just get smaller 30mm pads.The material is premium and the helmet is a very nice design. It's a bit quieter than fg-st but... not much. The air intake is heard a bit stronger than 140 km / h but I do not need ear plugs either then or then. My bike is naked yamaha mt 07. The helmet is the best buy on the market for a price of 350 eur on a discount.

@geo4st Жыл бұрын
in my fg-st is very anoying the thing that the speakers pop out, i mean you can say that it's a little painful, big no from me to hjc if the new helmets have also so little space, if you consider that helmets that cost 1/3 of the price have so much space that you can't understand that there is something added to the helmet

Maybe I missed it but did you use the clamp or go sticky mount?..excellent install video. I have a hard time trusting sticky mounting things. I didn't know if the internal visor slide was in the way to use the clamp. Thanks.
@arthurcoldwells13266 жыл бұрын
Good question ...and you're right! Actually, I used the sticky mount in the video as it seemed a little more flush on the helmet and made for a slightly easier instal. However... Having ridden several times with it--a couple of which were in damp/drizzly conditions--I subsequently discovered that the sticky mount was starting to become unglued. Fortunately it never actually came off the helmet, but I did notice that it was getting there, so I have now changed the mount to the clamp version and that's what I'll use in future. Thanks for the kind words! Cheers

I have the RPHA 90 and the visor slider is in the same place and so I too had to go with the sticky pad. Except it's just not staying stuck in the back. I've redone it twice now, second time with 2 layers of 30 lbs 3M double-sided tape and still it's coming undone. I'm going to have to go with the clamp sooner or later, even if it means moving the whole unit rearwards.
