Installing the Trinity Slip from RAD Parts on the Kawasaki KRX 1000

Cold starts usually produce for low and echo tone due to the engine being “cold”. Same for trucks and cars alike.

****UPDATE**** so after goin on a trail ride with it, it was so loud my group made me ride in the back. I just ordered the silencer which coming back to this video I believe I’m gonna prefer to keep on it for all rides

Good job man. Here I grew up behind a big atv and all other power sport retailer, I always loved the throaty thump. I'm now 30. My arctic cat 1000 atv is only beaten by a yamaha R1 and I've had it with loud. The drone drives ya nuts and when you have to sneek around someone's field bcuz you dk where the hell ya are you're screwed and the pigs will always easily shut engine off to re locate you. Yes my 1000 leaves everything way behind but wtf man lol In short I give you credit adding a pipe like that at your "experienced" age 🤪

@@MichaelDavisOutdoorAdventures I may have mis-conveyed that man sry lol If you ride in a location where it doesn't matter then hell yeah, and that sweet ass utv has the exhaust further back and better shielded when sitting in it than an ATV. I want that booty grabbin, trail dominator krx so bad, but to be honest me an the wife agreed on yamaha rmax 4 seater as we have a little man on the way. The ramx4 can't quite keep up to the nasty krx but should be good enough I guess lol Truthfully tho good video you did a good job. That krx is equal to the biggest meanest Harley, ya gotta let her breath right 👍

Everybody wants to hear cold start, because it is when the muffler is louder and as it warms up the muffler gets more quieter. Anyways the Trinity muffler sounds awesome. I think it sounds better than the Empire racing muffler.

Cold starts are dumb in my opinion because when the car, truck, UTV , Harley etc warm up and the RPM's drop, that is when you will hear the TRUE sound. You won't hear cams and such at warm up idle like you will when it's warm.

Cold starts on diesels cause their hard to start they smoke they lope they knock. Gas motors usually start up load some sound cammed . Some sound good when they fire up cold. I know my ole 75 Chevy sounds real nice when she’s cold 😂

I see you put an alternator kit on the car . Are you running any special circuits for lights,amp for radios ect kaw looks great and now sounds wicked

When I bought my car I made a deal with the dealer, so he installed my Alternator, lights, radio and a lot of other stuff. So to be honest with you, I can't answer that question. Sorry about that. I love the exhaust though

The “Cold Start” started with Diesel engines in the cold. There are a million tube videos with trains, dozers, big diesel trucks and diesel pickups...I’m thinking it’s the smoke or sometimes flames”trains”... Yeh I’ve probably watched most of them. Just my opinion on cold start.

Techicly yes, it needs to be tuned. It will run lean.

I believe you put the screen in backwards. They usually go in towards the can.

Actually I just remembered, the screen would only fit one way with the silence core, and that was facing out. Hard to believe that they built such a great slip-on with such poor instructions.

Did you modify fueling with a ECU re-flash to correct for the lean condition created by opening up the exhaust? (They are already lean from the factory)

I didn't for almost a year with no issues, but then I upgraded to a full exhaust system, then I added a tune, I wished I had of added the tune from the beginning

What was the weight savings between the two exhaust systems?

The factory has to weigh 25-30 pounds. I think the trinity is around 5

Any issues with backfiring? Installed mine and it does, sent my tune back to have him adjust some things and it still does it

I have what they refer to as deceleration pop, which is very common. A back fire pops back thru the air cleaner, which isn't good. Which one do you have, I love the deceleration pop, it's harmless

decel pop is a lean condition. ask any dyno tuner

I get occasional decel pops on the stock exhaust under partial throttle at extremely low throttle. Not sure it's anything to worry about for us.

As far as I know, it's a Trinity Stage 5 Slip-on exhaust

Not to critique your install but the upper bracket is meant to slide inside the back of that channel so it cannot pivot up-and-down and the rear mount is not meant to be sandwiched in between the can clamp but rather on the bottom of it.

Yeah, i took it out while riding to see if I liked it in for sure. It's crazy that the screen gives it a better sound. Anyway, i figured out that it has a groove it goes in as well. Now it is in there right. LOL. Good eye

Yes, I plan on packing it every year. It calls for more often, but I saw videos where folks went a couple years before packing

The HMF pipe for the KRX is a much better sounding and preforming pipe.

Cold starts use more fueling and higher rpm, also the colder metal resonates differently. Sounds awesome man, I’m pretty close to getting a sxs I just don’t know if I want the krx or a rzr

On a cold start the engine dumps in more fuel and changes timing to get as much exhaust heat as possible. Thats why it’s louder. The purpose is to get the catalytic converter up to temp as fast as possible in order to control emissions. It’s an EPA thing.

So here in the future, 2023, folks have realized that All aftermarket mufflers for the KRX actually loose power over the stock muffler. Stock is quieter and makes more power. Totally useless mod.
