Jesse De Rooij That makes sense but I also think that since its a drift car he probably wont be running it empty or near empty a lot since he will be able to come in after every run and top off and not lose position like a race car has to worry about

Not going to lie, pretty jealous you found one of these that's this mint. I owned a '93 B2200, I had done a bunch of suspension mods, little bit of stuff to the engine and mine was a nightmare. Having been driven every winter in Canada since it's birth, the thing was quite rusty underneath, also having 330k km, the amount of oil it burned was disgusting. All in all, I'm happy you're taking care of this thing and I can't wait to watch it finally drift.

You need oxygen to get an explosion. fuel pumps are submerged in fluids,or in fuel vapors. You need a really specific ratio of gas/oxygen to allow a combustion,or explosion. So even sparks are not that dangerous in a fuel tank.

You have to make sure it's the right type of regulator. Most cheaper off brand ones don't support a return style system. I believe you need what's called a bypass style, and most cheaper ones are blocking style. Love your channel and the build. 👍

Just a tip incase you don't know but when you use hoses in a fuel tank you want fuel specific hoses. Radiator hoses will swell and dissolve inside gasoline. Hope this saves a headache later 👍🏻

That's a pretty wicked shackle angle. I'd be a little concerned about bending the leafs as there's not that much up travel before that spring hits the frame. Not sure if these trucks came with that steep of an angle or not. Otherwise great build! Been following it since the beginning , you've done a really great job!
@tom30566 жыл бұрын
Won't the axle hit the tank when you put weight in the bed? Or even when the suspension squats when you drive?

Why not go with a fuel cell over the stock tank from the beginning?
@lister29676 жыл бұрын
FTDOOM I'm not 100 percent but I don't think that's possible as the fuel cell just stops the engine from starving as the fuel in the tank sloshes around xd

He also wants to make it running rather quickly and make all the cool but not necessary mods later

xx_thehypedrifter_xx pros I'm talking about replacing the factory tank with an aftermarket fuel cell. Typically in racing applications involving trucks they set them up in the bed so it gives them easy access to their fuel system.

Ginge, Sparks in a sealed fuel tank won't cause problems because the gasoline puts off so much... Well gas that there's no room for oxygen in the tank. No oxygen = no boom. Fuel pumps just like any other motor actually Sparks each time it is turned on and off

@christraudt67306 жыл бұрын
i wish you would’ve gotten a walbro 450 pump or something similar... fuel system is something that people only want to do once and with gasoline you should be good for 700 wheel hp with a 450.

Has anyone mentioned that what he removed was the rear brake load/weight proportioning valve not some fluid slow down thing like he described? He probably doesn't need it anymore seeing as he wont be carrying much in it, but it wouldn't surprise me if with it removed and no weight in the back it locks the rears first under hard braking now. Could be quite dangerous, specially in the rain...
@brandoncaldwell956 жыл бұрын
Better add some storage additives to the fuel. Having it sit longer than 3 months makes it gum up and clog. Also the water in the fuel seperates and it begins to smell like turpintine..
@03canadianf56 жыл бұрын
Those shackles need to be closer to vertical. The shackles are designed to swing rearward to allow for the spring to flatten and absorb shock loads. As it is, you won't have much in the way of that. Maybe considering fabricating custom mounts? I think the springs you're using are too long really.
@ivanolivares77196 жыл бұрын

If there is a spark you most likely won't go kaboom, cuz the fuel needs to be vaporized to be set on fire easily. When it's not vaporized it doesn't burn as easily I guess.
