Amazingly done. Watched lots of gate videos. Just looking for high-level comparison, and this one was by far the best.

Great video. I'm trying to find option for small, narrow, odd shaped (trapezoidal) drive. Two options the may fit my requirements are a 4 panel bi fold gate or two panel telescopic sliding gate. Can I ask how secure these are? How easy can they be forced open?
@automaticGatesExplained3 жыл бұрын
They are as secure as any other gate

How do you calculate the wheel diameter?
@automaticGatesExplained3 жыл бұрын
The wheel on the post is twice the diameter of the others
@t1m3l0rd3 жыл бұрын
@@automaticGatesExplained it doesn’t matter what diameter?
@automaticGatesExplained3 жыл бұрын
exact diameter doesn't really matter although the smaller wheels should be more than 50mm (2")

What if your driveway is slightly sloping? What kind of tolerances does it allow?
@automaticGatesExplained3 жыл бұрын
if the driveway slopes across the gate must be hung at the lower side and bottom racked, if sloping up from road, it can be made to rise as it opens.

Hi, I thought the same system but with sprockets and chain because the total length of the gate is 5.6m, the large sprocket has 24 teeth and the small sprocket has 12 teeth, I want to know if you have, or produce hinges, because my gates are heavy and one of the gates also includes a pedestrian gate, thank you.
@automaticGatesExplained3 жыл бұрын
We custom make our bi-folding gate mechanisms from off the self hinges to suit the style of gate and use wire ropes because they can go at the bottom of the gate and hardly be seen. Chains are much bulkier and must go on the top because they need to be oiled and if near the ground pick up dirt, so they don't look as nice. The wheels for the wire ropes (or sprockets if you're using a chain) need to be accurately centred with the hinges other wise they don't work.

Theres a flaw i'm seeing in the wire rope. What's to stop someone from cutting the rope and the opening part of the gate? The wire is exposed outisde the property.
@madalinfloringrigore51412 жыл бұрын
i was thinking about the same thing. For the purpose of demonstration i think it's exposed but it can be hidden
