What if you take off the overflow plate and find out that the stuff that was supposed to be hooked to it had come off and likely fallen down into the pipe?

How did you "fish" the white plastic stopper / plunger out ? I have the same thing in a slow draining tub!

You need to adjust the linkage , on my kolher I had to cut the adjustment arm 1/4 up the war and form a new loop, as the no longer make the assembly kits

You also have to adjust the linkage for depth and then lock it with the locking nut

The trip lever face plate is upside down. U also need to adjust the linkage
