HHR SS OWNERS: You will need to replace your stock sway bar end links if you install these coilovers. The stock 11 inch end links are too long and cannot attach to our delta chassis coilovers.

support the hubs with rope / bungee / wire hanger dont let it hang with the brake line / tie rods / axles. also clean off alot of mud and dirt hit up a car wash and spray your old stuff down before removing or once you remove your old stuff wash / wipe off as much sand / dirt / crud as possible. love DIY build install videos.
@gbrunner242 жыл бұрын
Good tips! We ran the car through the carwash before hand, but it didn't do much obviously hah.

@@gbrunner24 yeah that stuff cakes on so hard you almost have to chisel it off, even brake cleaner doesn't get it off. It's just a good practice less stuff raining on your face if you lying down, cleaner install, easier to get bolts started, easier to slide parts in keep threads as clean as possible from debris get all surfaces as flat as possible. In a perfect world without 15+ year old cars...

So do you use bump stock or not on the rear spring
@ZZPerformanceChannel Жыл бұрын
With coilovers you do not use the stock bump stop, there are bump stops built into the rear dampers.
@CaptainRudy40212 жыл бұрын
I just had a thought. I think you guys should develop an air lift system for your coilovers similar to the APLS system Fortune Auto uses for their 500 series coilovers.

Can the same technique for ride height lining the lower mount holes be used if you were on a stock strut?
@Friedbrain112 жыл бұрын
It's called galvanic action. The steel and aluminum are being electrically corroded.

what size spanner wrench do you use? i have an 06 cobalt ss and am trying to adjust the height.

Are the regular hhr's really running as long as people say.? Getting like 250 to 350k or more on same everything even factory timing chain.
@ZZPerformanceChannel8 күн бұрын
Yes, we regularly see many Ecotecs running well past the 300k mark. If maintained properly they can go an extremely long time.

@ZZPerformanceChannel Mmmmk, well I know what I'm getting for the next dog mobile. Thanks! Those inner rear door handles on the panel vans make me nervous, smart dog could figure those out and I didn't see a child lock button on the drivers side. Gonna hafta go in the panel and disconnect them somehow.

Does ZZP have a height raising kit? It get old really quick driving around worrying about scraping and hitting (front end especially) entering and exiting anywhere and also pot holes and speed bumps. Does anyone have any info on proper adjustability to raise an HHR SS about 1 to 2 inches ?
@ZZPerformanceChannel2 жыл бұрын
Our coilovers are adjustable so that you can raise your ride height up to stock height. If you want to go beyond that, we recommend swapping your struts from a base model Cobalt.
@Crispyrod2 жыл бұрын
@zzperformance, do you have to run a 5mm spacer for the redline rears?
@ZZPerformanceChannel2 жыл бұрын
You do not have to, as long as everything clears, it will continue to clear. We have a note about this on the website. If you'd like to run a 3mm spacer to feel comfortable, there's no problem doing so.

The swaybar endlinks are a fucking nightmare And 2 of my bolts on the top hat are just free spinning god damn it lmao 3/4 tires got the coilovers installed and the last 2 bolts on top hat want to free spin then I cut the freaking swaybar endlink bolt with a Sawzall just cause I couldn't get it to stop spinning no matter what I shoved behind it or wrenched in didn't wanna work😂😢 fuck these cars are so stupid to work on
@GeoTrashPanda2 жыл бұрын
Wtf did he flip that nut to back out that bolt! Nah don't do that! Only mushroom the outside of that nut.
@gbrunner242 жыл бұрын
I've been flipping the nut and hammering that way for quite a while. Found it mushroomed less than the "front" since you have more surface area. Either way works though!
@GeoTrashPanda2 жыл бұрын
@@gbrunner24 yeah because it kinda got that built in washer but you don't want to mushroom that since it's the surface that mates to the knuckle and all. The outside of the washer doesn't matter as much since it doesn't mate to any surface.
