Love my 08 HHR SS. 5+ years now and hopefully many more to come!
@Lucky_Logan3 жыл бұрын
Ima just say this. The HHR was the best car I’ve ever owned. I even accidentally hydro planed and took out a palmetto bush at 45 mph broke the bumper guard, the bumper brace, the frame rails, radiator broke in half, no coolant. And engine oil never leaked. Lasted through being beat up as a 19-22 year old would. Shit was more solid than a Civic ain’t gonna lie. Tray drifting, perfect to travel In, shit is awesome. I’m definitely gonna buy another one, we had to total mine out cause some dude running from the police t-boned my mom and grandmother in it. Insurance said totaled, but after that palmetto bush shit drove for another 2 years after we used a 1-ton com-along to pull the frame rails straight. And I live in Florida, we live in the rain never had a problem but then again I didn’t have a sunroof lmao

Mine has been great. 3 cons- Radios- on my 3rd. Front end has to be tweeked yearly. No headroom at 6'1." Pros- quicker pick-up at the line than expected. Will highway cruise at 80-90 MPH ALL DAY LONG-( at 24 miles per gallon.) Versitile - Car seats, or fold them down and carry 8' lumber. Mine has 178,000 miles,,,trips to Boston, San Fran., Seattle, etc. from Texas. I bought it new, and chose it because our son had a PT Cruiser- and I didn't want one of THEM. Still love it.

Deliberately went out and got an 08 HHR SS. Fairly cheap just before the pandemic. I must say this little car has surprised me a lot. Its been very reliable. Overall fun to drive. Biggest complaints are: 1. It appears GM deliberately slowed down the car for what I don't know. Its very frustrating driving it. I know this because if you put it on "Competitive Mode" all the lag goes away. A tune or a reliable performance chip fixed this for me. 2. The usual throttle lag is also an issue but Pedal Commander works well for me. 3. Door rusts. No big deal since its not the frame. Advise: Avoid using regular gas. I know it says "Premium Recommended" but this engine really does not like it. Also use top tier gas only. Engine knocks slightly with cheap gas. Many other things I like. I like the build quality. Its like a little tank. Will definitely get another one. Maybe the 2010.
