I got my license at 16, in the very early '70s. My godmother offered to let me drive, after a fashion, New England to visit sites in eastern Canada. One thing I learned, as she had driven xcountry dozens of times by then, was: give the semis every break you can. Let them in, flash to let them know it's safe, these guys drive for a living. Let them do it. I have now crossed the country by car 8 times, coast to coast. If you ever want to drive safely with protection, seriously, give the semis all the room and space they need. On that trip, you will not travel alone.

@@sharpy3453 Gotta say, I agree with the advice either way. Stay aware of semis and you'll live longer! And I learned from my road trips that if a semi is in the left lane, do not pass on the right. 99.9% of the time they had a good reason to change lanes and will be back once they pass whatever they were avoiding. And before anyone says it's illegal to pass on the right... no, it freaking isn't, if you're in a legally designated lane for going straight in that direction. Had a similar situation happen to me a few years ago. I am a trucker and I was driving at about 10PM Westbound on I-88 coming out of Rotterdam, NY. When a car overtakes me and cuts me off. This was completely unnecessary as a) myself, the offending vehicle and the car behind him were the only vehicles within sight distance. and b) my truck was governed at 62 mph and Speed Limit was 65mph. Thanks to the officers for doings a dangerous job as well as teaching some safety to folks who really need to know !! I just stop driving Big Rigs in January 2020 after 40+ years of doing so !! Thanks to all the other drivers (big trucks to 4 wheelers to emergency responders) for your kindness and helpfulness and making things enjoyable and to the few who, well don’t have the proper word for them I just hope you where having a bad day because we all have bad days !!

@haveyouseenchef45312 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t call either of them cutting off. I believe the first guy is probably only getting done because his emerge was shaky and the cop wants to see if it is substance induced. 4:25 is just a sensitive driver. I suggest checking out Ashley Neal’s channel. He puts out great content and all his driving fail compilation are focused on a lens of education rather than slander. If you are a new or unsure driver, his channel is perfect for you.

$491 is only the base fine for a carpool offense in the SF bay area. By the time you add all of the extra processing fees, city tax, county tax, state tax, and possible court costs, the final total you have to pay comes out to double that amount.

Seriously, don't take chances when you're driving & if a driver cuts you off, let it go! It's getting so much worse with gun violence killings mixed with anger & road rage! Just a week ago here in VA. A family was driving to go on their vacation, two teenage daughters were sitting in the back seat ages 9 & 14. A driver pulled alongside them, pulled out a gun & started shooting at their vehicle! The shooter nearly missed the girls in the backseat, shattered the window the girls were cut up. The mom was shot at as well. 3 bullet holes went into their car by the shooter! They had no idea why the man was shooting at them! I'm hearing on the news and seeing things nowadays that have become the norm! They talk about it on the news as if it's nothing & it is something very BIG! Please be safe out there no matter where or what you're doing! XO

9:13 guy had a brake lamp out on his right side, which is also the turn signal. Which is why the camer did not see it, nothing to see. And none of the “break checks” were even break checks. He slowed up because the car in-front of him slowed to change lanes. And then he slowed up for the curve on the transition road. The cammer needs to lighten up.

HEXYEBO 8:46 there is no brake-checking here. the alleged 1 & 2 are adjustments the Jeep is needing to do for the vehicle in front of him. supposed #3, is the Jeep slowing down on the off ramp -- perfectly normal behavior. as well as at the start it certainly appeared there was more than enough room for him to merge. probably the only thing he did wrong was fail to signal to merge into the lane. and this guy tries to make a federal case out of it!
@amzarnacht67103 жыл бұрын
Considering a quarter mile of open lane behind him and 1.5 lengths for the jeep to shoehorn into? Yeah, certainly worth making a case about if the car in front had slowed for any reason.
@bryanthornburg86363 жыл бұрын
Only thing the Jeep did wrong was he should have gone behind the person with the camera, that space was a bit too small for him. And braking on the off ramp isn’t smart. On a long off ramp like that you usually let it roll and don’t brake until closer to the intersection

9:17 Immediately after the "turn signal maybe" you can clearly see that the person's right brake/tail/turn signal light is burned out. For all we know they _did_ have their signal on. Edit: 9:27 They're not brake-checking the driver with the camera; in fact they're actually _getting_ brake-checked by the person in front, probably because they're driving right on that person's bumper. Edit 2: 9:52 "Brakecheck 3" No, that's called "slowing down on the exit ramp." Person with the dashcam seems a little overly sensitive and not very observant. Note: I'm not saying the Jeep didn't do anything wrong; they quite obviously cut off both the silver SUV at the beginning of the clip and then cut off our dashcam driver. However, the rest of what happened (to this point) was not them doing anything particularly negative. Edit 3: 10:10 Ok, _that_ was funny. Edit 4: 14:57 "Truck overtakes from the shoulder" I think you mean "entry ramp;" you can clearly see at the beginning of the clip that there's a double white line coming to a point and another car ahead of the truck. Can we stop calling people out for things they're not actually doing?... Edit 5: 15:10 In fact right here you can clearly see the lane ending and merging with the lane the dashcam driver is in.

Never mind the fact that car pool lanes are a waste of resources. It would make far more sense to let everyone (except heavy trucks) use those lanes. If the political types really wanted to make traffic flow better they would enforce laws on lane discipline.

2:04 Those people who brake check in front of semi-trucks should be arrested, it is a total danger to let free this type of person who looks at a truck that is easily over 15,000 kg (usually between 10k and 60k depending on the model and if it is loaded or not) and find that they need the same braking and reaction space as their cars that do not exceed 2,000 kg. Not to mention that many trucks have a lock and shutdown system in case of suspicious attitude or stoppage without prior notice to the company. They are working, they have an estimated departure time and arrival time, not all bosses will understand that they are late because a frustrated madman found out that his wife was cheating on him with the neighbor and decided to try to kill himself in front of a semi -Towing and he decided to take out his anger on those who have nothing to do with his life and, as a gift, also give a blow to insurance at the same time.
