clip at 1:30 - Dmiffo, you're at fault and the most likely reason you weren't booked is the cop was a General Duties vehicle and didn't want to hassle with the paper of writing a ticket would give him while he was wanting to go have his meal break. The responsibility is on you to turn safely, and you didn't. The dashcam footage actual convicts you of an unsafe turn because it shows the cop had to brake to not hit you. - at 2:07 the speed limit on the road is 70 kph and the cam info shows the cammer is at 27 kph - thus causing a real hazard to the traffic.

1:52 - 2:53 If any vehicle has to brake or change lanes because of your actions then you are the one that messed up. It was not only the cop that had to brake, cars behind the cop also had to brake because of your actions. No the police were not wrong to be traveling 70kph in a 70 kph area, you on the other hand were wrong to be traveling at 1/2 the posted speed. Assuming the speed the cop and other traffic were going was ~70Kph then the question about how fast the cop was going is voided. Most such traffic breaks are used to clear a hazardous obstruction from the road or to allow a stalled vehicle to safely make its way off the road and onto the shoulder. For example, a highway patrol officer may arrive at the site of the accident and then radio to another officer to initiate a traffic break.

If a vehicle is directly behind a turning vehicle (within somewhat close proximity) then it is reasonable to assume that that vehicle would have to slow down so as not to rear end said turning vehicle. Thereby allowing the cammer to have time to make his turn. However, what may be the case here, is that the police vehicle that was behind the turning vehicle may not have been that close behind. There may enough space between him and the turning vehicle that the police vehicle may not have needed to slow down much at all if the turning vehicle had cleared his turn in time. In which case the cammer did not have enough time, (from a dead stop turn and accelerate), to pull out without cutting off the police vehicle that was behind the turning vehicle.

I honestly thought some punks were out joyriding in a police cruiser but I just followed what the other drivers did & slowed down. Later I was able to ask a local what it was & then why, seeing as traffic wasn't that bad. They will do this if there is an accident miles up ahead (load up vehicles & safely clean up any debris) as well as if traffic is too congested up ahead. Start slowing down back traffic so it gives traffic ahead time to get uncongested & avoid an even worse issue.

0:40 There a few commenters who don’t know what a rolling road block or a traffic break are and what they are used for. It could be a single vehicle or multiple; but the reasoning is usually the same: road hazards, construction, wide loads, accidents, or allowing traffic to not be congested during high traffic times. The reason the truck got popped and not the vehicles in front of the trooper was because the driver attempted to pass the trooper. It’s like the pace car in auto races. Any vehicles in front of the pace car are ok to continue; but if a driver try’s to pass, they get penalized.

@@vixxxenfoxxx3660 Good example. Motorists and passengers who've just been in collisions often lose their judgement and exit their vehicles and wander around the travel lines on a freeway/interstate, looking at the damage and comparing notes with others, and often forget to realize that other steel and glass structures are behind them, barrelling down the highway at 60-80 mph no realizing that there is an accident scene up ahead. So traffic breaks also help prevent the stunned citizens from getting struck.

I've never heard of this before either. My first thought was that someone had stolen a police car and was being stupid with it. This needs to be made public knowledge, since obviously people don't know about it.

Seen it in Indiana and Illinois, no accidents ahead just cops slowing traffic and creating a backup.

Only seen/experienced it once in California, I had heard of them. All the cop was doing was creating traffic, most likely in an attempt to drum up 'business'

The way it looked to me was that the cammer sped up to trick the cammed into what cops call (at least ones I've talked to) 'excessive speeding', the cop probably decided that the cammed vehicle was more of an inherent danger.

@@SonicSlicer dont think a road block would be necessary, most people stop when being arrested by police. What they do is just to get in front of both and signal. Like he did but would have stayed in the street and prob told the car to follow the other one in the gas station

When traffic is flowing too smooth a cop fucks everything up by causing a traffic jam.

Literally that, when the police/highway patrol weave like that across all lanes of traffic to get everyone to really slow down and then stop. This is done so some type of large, dangerous debris can be cleared from the road (mostly), or because there is some sort of ongoing situation ahead (hostage situation, police stand off with somebody, etc.), or because they need a clear space for a medevac helicopter to land because of a really, really bad accident.

@@ericl7238 if you have a license and said this...did you get it illegally? cause that's not what traffic breaks are. they do them so traffic slows downs/stop to give other officers and cleaning crew to clear the road from as much debris possible from a car crash or allow road workers to install road pylons/directing signs as quickly as possible. this is not how traffic jams happen either

13:20 So cammer almost side swiped a car thinking turn signal gives right of way to change lanes, then laughs at the person who wrecked, probably caused by the distraction/close call of the cammer? Bad Karma, dude. On you!!!

Dude in the accord audibly accelerated to prevent the cammer from moving out of the lane with an accident to the point he rear ended another vehicle. Absolutely their fault, not the cammer’s.

1:55 to be honest, you really should wait in such situation, a lot of driver will speed up, behind the turning vehicle and then just run into you. This would be your fault, because you failed to yield. Only turn, when you can clearly see whats happening and 100% be sure that no other traffic is around. 12:40 how are those rims legal in the US?

I should also add that it’s important to drive defensively and to think ahead about your trip to be in the proper lane. With that said, I’ve found more times than not, you should take the lane you need because if you wait for someone to give it to you then you’ll miss it

0:55 - What was the point of the traffic break?
@FenchurchDent42
@FenchurchDent42 3 жыл бұрын
“Also known as “rolling roadblocks,” a traffic break is a separation within the traffic flow, on a highway. They can occur naturally, or manually through the use of highway patrol officers. Usually they are performed by highway patrol in order to create a less hazardous driving environment. Essentially, a traffic break is the creation of traffic separation by a traffic patrol officer slowly swerving back and forth across all lanes of a highway, not allowing other vehicles to pass.”
@GhostDrummer
@GhostDrummer 3 жыл бұрын
