don't think it does, but they're far from innocent, especially with no passengers on board. i was on a bus in sydney once and i think the bus driver thought i wasn't there because he didn't end the trip and started going back to the depot but that's not the point. i witnessed him run multiple red lights and may have been speeding. so much for "professional drivers"

I remember one time the bus carrying my school soccer team got pulled over. It was a public bus that had been hired for the day. There was an issue with the registration I believe. The police officer who pulled them over was nice enough to drive with the bus to the soccer field where they sorted out the issue so the team wouldn’t be late!

so the thing is, if a cop pulls over a bus, then he has to deal with the possibility of that driver not being able to continue driving, therefore having to get another driver or another bus to collect passengers which is just a huge headache

While I do keep an eye out for emergency services at intersections, the sirens on VIC ambulances are a lot quieter than the police and fire sirens. A lot of the time you can’t hear them until they’re almost on top of you, especially if you’re surrounded by trucks, especially if the corner is a blind one due to tall buildings or high fences.

It's actually more complicated than u think. When your light is green u don't expect a car or anything to come across your lane so when suddenly there is, it is hard to make a correct decision. Emergency vehicles are by law supposed to enter a closed intersection (redlighted), at I think 25km/h. Or crawl.

The other night my friend was driving (I was the passenger) at night in the rain, going the speed limit up a hill and a car was right up our ass. My friend suggested he pull over and let them pass but I said no as he was going the correct speed limit. The guy (or girl?) overtakes us on the hill with a blind spot. On top of the hill was a cop on his motorbike waiting. First time I've seen instant karma in the wild. So satisfying!

@@chrishorsburgh7054 I can't comment about other states but in Queensland the use of the siren on a code 1 is discretionary. If we need to put it on a 3am then so be it. The firies however just love their sirens. The BRTs put them on from the second they move off to the moment they arrive, irrespective of time of day.

The cyclist is lucky the police didn't fine him for: 1) Cycling on sidewalk as an adult (you are only allowed if you're a child), 2) Crossing a road on a pedestrian crossing on red signal (considered a jaywalking), 3) Crossing a road on a pedestrian crossing while riding on a bike (this is actually a thing, my brother got fined for it)

He switched lanes in front of a car, causing it to brake, causing the lorry behind it to have to brake and then change lanes to maintain distance. Literally visible brake lights.

@@MeppyMan the rules in my city are garbage, they are meant to be broken Recently a 17 year old died because he was speeding, the cause was unknown as to why he was going 60+ mph (I have no clue how much that is in K/ph) I am pretty sure he wasn't drunk as he would have survived hitting another car, but this happened in a 30mph zone and no one would have seen him coming because the city thought it was perfectly fine to have cars park perpendicular to the store front instead of parallel which led to many blindspots and probably would have prevented the accident from occurring between 3 other cars. now the only safe way out of there is to roll the stop slowly or go 3 blocks away and risk a pileup of cars near school zones.

In south Australia it's basically the wild west. There's never any cops around on the roads now for many years. We must be really understaffed here in SA they are all busy with domestic disputes by methed up brothers and sisters fighting.

DC driver went through on yellow light. It is a judgment call (by the cop) as to whether it would have been safe for the DC driver to stop. However, other vehicle clearly drove through a red light and almost had a collision - no brainer for the cop to choose which is the worse offence.

How stupid do you have to be to do an illegal u-turn over a painted island when there’s a roundabout 10 metres ahead? They could’ve used the roundabout to turn around legally and no need for a 3 point turn! The stupidity was strong on that one that it makes me wonder how they managed to get a license in the first place.

Driver left the lane change too late - he/she commenced the turn while still in a straight-ahead lane. I fully support police-led education of drivers who do not plan ahead and make potentially dangerous last minute decisions. We don't know whether the driver was fined or just warned.

@@1970guppy But you have to be legally in a lane in order to change lanes legally. The Road Rules say that if there are marked lanes, then you must use them - not just turn from anywhere

We've got an earlier model FGX xr6 turbo with a UHF Ariel on the boot and orange illuminating light bars in the front and back windows (legit though, for going onto job sites and that), and it is the funniest thing, to see people completely shit themselves, and instantly change their driving style!
