Lots of road rage stories in the news lately. I'd like to think this might make a few people think twice before they drive aggressively, try to force their way into another lane or get out of their car to start a fight but that is probably wishful thinking.

Also a shame that probably most of them didn't get charged or lose any points or get fined for this behavior, just an insurance cost. That is a big reason why these people drive like absolute morons, because even though they know in the back of their mind that they're likely to cause a crash, they know the guard rails of society will protect them from the ramifications. People who drive like this don't deserve to drive period. It's also a shame that even those that go to court for driving while drunk or other stupid stuff end up back on the road because the judge doesn't really care, just that the driver needs to drive for their job. I also dare people here to call any of those deliberate acts a "mistake" and try to argue that everyone makes mistakes so it's OK to drive like a moron all the time. Drive like that on purpose, lose your license for good or for a very long time (10+ years). Drive without a license or while suspended, jail.

@Endoyo6 ай бұрын
@@linuxares Are you completely blind? There's clearly lane markings on this road indicating the lane is ending. The literal previous example on the website you've just quoted shows this exact situation. The truck is in the wrong and needs to give way to traffic already in the lane. Please do not ever give road advice on the internet ever again this is embarrassing for you. It's even worse because you're smug as fuck while being completely wrong.
@sarcasticguy43116 ай бұрын
@@linuxares First off, zipper merge is a lie and doesn't work. People aren't water and don't behave like it. People are not autonomous robots. Second, it IS the truck driver's fault for not yielding. Third, the guy that got ran over is totally his own fault for getting out of his car. You step out of your vehicle in a threatening manner then I'm assuming you're a threat and will be treated as such. However, this is Australia and giving the merging vehicle right-of-way is exactly why they have problems like this.
@creditelectric6 ай бұрын
@@sarcasticguy4311 You are right about the zipper merge, it relies on people displaying common sense & some good will. When merging from the left you must ensure you have a space to merge into which is a civil way of doing this & compliant with the rules, but there is always the possibility of some pig accelerating from behind into the space you reasonably thought you had so I make sure I have moved over to the right well before anyone has a chance to force me into the gutter.Easier said sometimes but I try to think ahead. In this case it is a road works zone with a reduced speed limit & no zipper lane, my bet is there will be a sign stating form one lane, the response from both the old fart in the high viz & the cam driver was way over the top.My motto on the roads is let them go, let them go, let them go.All this aggro, likely injury, police involvement over a car length.

Yeah, and scarily the cammer seems to think he had right of way when he didn't. Though the other guy is an A hole and made the situation worse getting out, he did have right of way at the merge. @arkayenro82256 ай бұрын
@@jake8748 regardless of what happened previously if someone is trying to get into your car and trying to assault you then i dont expect any court would give a crap about the consequences of you attempting to get away from them, even if you were in a 2 tonne vehicle that happened to crush them a little bit, or even severely, in that attempt to escape - so long as you dont voice out loud and gleefully for the camera that your going to squish him.
@jake87486 ай бұрын
@@arkayenro8225 yes but it has to deemed reasonable force. Crushing him with a car is potentially deadly force level. Which means the DC driver needs to be able to honestly say he was in fear for his life/safety etc. But in context there is room for him to continue straight/some room on the left to drive away so he wasn't required to attack back either. It's a grey area there but I wouldn't want to take that chance with the legal system. Plus we only saw a recent snippet, there could be more further back down the road that changes the story either direction too. But yeah, both guys are idiots. DC tried to force in when the other guy decided not to let him in, which he is legally allowed to do, and the other guy is a road raging W ⚓️ who has some mental issues. And don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for that idiot who got crushed. I actually do agree that self defence so long as it's not intentionally to cause harm, should be given alot of leeway. But like that recent one I think was Melbourne or Adelaide where the guy died being dragged by the ute, the other guy had gotten out and reached in apparently and the guy who drove off was charged for manslaughter because they dragged him with their car. Similar arguments to here, someone reached in to possibly assault, injured/killed as a result of the other person driving away.
