I used this recipe yesterday. Overall, it's good. However, to my taste I would reduce the brown sugar to 1 Tablespoon, increase the garlic to 2 - 3 Tablespoons, add a bit of ginger & hot pepper flakes. But, obviously it's a matter of taste. Thank you, Jeffery for all your yummy recipes. Keep 'em coming!!😊

I made this today in my new Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus and I honestly think this is THE BEST tasting Chinese food I've ever had!!! The meat was soooo tender. I used two pounds of pre-sliced bottom round stir-fry meat. I was worried as it was sliced very thin, but it worked out perfectly! The combination of flavors with the hoisin, oyster, and soy sauces and sesame seed oil made it truly authentic. No more take-out for me!! Thank you for helping me figure out and enjoy my new Instant Pot. I reserved some of the chopped green onions for garnish along with some sesame seeds. Jeffrey you are amazing!

I make this for supper tonight. I got a deal on some stew meat and followed your advice about cutting it smaller. It was a big hit with the family. The sauce was better than our takeout place. I may try it out on other dishes. Thanks for the great meal!

So this recipe was beyond Amazing. I immediately went to the butcher to get more meat so when we are ready for a second batch it's ready. As I'm unpacking groceries, I ask my daughter to put the 'Beef" for Jeffrey's IP Beef & Broccoli in the freezer and she yells "HELL YEAH! That's a teenager praise for you! WINNER WINNER IP DINNER RECIPE!

Very good recipe. Had it this evening and it did not disappoint. One word of warning.....sesame oil has a much lower burn point. I attempted to heat the oil for three minutes as the recipe calls for and the oil started popping at about the two minute mark. Of course, I had just bent over to see what all the noise was about when it popped and spewed burning oil in my face. Decided to watch the movie Scarface while I ate my dinner.

works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside kzbin.infoUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

@pressureluckcooking Like you, I love Chinese food and I have mixed results making it at home. Also, with my culinary skills, I usually make a HUGE mess in my kitchen with ingredients all over the place, splattered oil during stir fry, etc. So I really want to try this recipe. However, I plan to tenderize the meat (velveting process) with a small amount of baking soda and cornstarch for about an hour which is what most Chinese restaurants do to make cheap cuts of beef as tender as filet mignon in Asian beef dishes. Thank you for posting this. Cheers from New Mexico.

Looks great! One thing I would change is swapping the order you do the onions and beef. Saute the beef and get a nice sear with some browning, take it out, then add the onions into the oil and beef fat. Really takes the flavor to the next level!

Hey Jeff, if you want to be able to slice the flank steak easier, put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes. You'll be amazed at his easily the meat will slice. I use round steak and you'd never know it wasn't "high quality" meat. For fun, add a dash of ground coriander... it's sooooo good! If I'm eating Chinese food I must have rice. What do you recommend? I usually get extra long grain rice. I need to hit the Chinese Grocery store and get some hossin sauce, I'm all out of it. I always hit the like button before I even watch your videos, I know they're always going to be excellent! My only preference is to trim the fat of meat, I'm like a surgeon, no fat is left behind. I guess we all have our quirks. Thanks for all the great recipes, I've ordered your cookbooks from Amazon. My instant pot is going to get busier once your books arrive. How about some General Taos Chicken? I love the sauce and don't know how to make it. Thanks so much!! You're the BEST insta pot guru out there in YT land.

There's a process called silking. It's very popular in Asian cooking, it's a matter of using about a tablespoon of baking soda with a quarter cup of water. Let them meet soakin it for about 20 or 30 minutes before cooking. You will be amazed 🤤

Hello Jeffrey, Today I tried the Beef and Brocolli recipe. When I went to the store they had everything but the Japanese Wine so I substituted another brand of rice wine. Big mistake, When the pot got hot I had major eruptions in my kitchen. The oil was popping out of the pot like old faithful. I decided I could save it by throwing in the onions. The only problem was the oil popped real high just as I was adding the onions, I jumped and onions went all over the kitchen. I was able to finish and the Beef and Brocolli came out really good. Next time maybe I will try the sherry.
