I couldn't read the whole comment somewhere else, but, it was pointed out one should Not just put the lid down like she did. Because part I couldn't read, but, it makes sense. Drain the lid over the pot, and flip it over place it top down on your counter. It won't drain on your counter. Or place it on a folded towel.

If it's to watery, you can add a cornstarch slurry to thicken up the stew right after you open the lid.

It seems like the older version DUO has better ratings online and I'm so confused now even though i googled and researched about it. I bought my Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 in Nov of 2016, use it almost daily and it works as new to this day.

I'm also in the market for an Instant Pot. Had settled on the Duo Plus until I saw this wider, shallower pot. It's just me 90% of the time but I do a lot of meal prep so I'm going with this one. Won't buy until they start making replacement parts for it.

Pro tip- take ingredients out of fridge the night before cooking & let ‘em come to room temp. Helps cool your house AND makes for faster cooking. Note: i leave onion in fridge; cutting cold onion makes for less crying ;)

Are the buttons actual buttons, with a tactile feel? Or are they just icons on the panel? I am a blind person, so i need tactile orientation.

the buttons are flat with the surface but you can feel the little bump under it and it will make a clicking sound when you click it. I hope that helps you!

That’s a great question. I honestly don’t know the answer to that. I would guess no.

Any pressure cooking function must have the lid on. If you want to cook grains without the lid you would probably want to use the saute function on low heat 👍

Have you tried pressing the start button after adjusting the temperature? It may need you to push the start button again to lock in the temperature that you set.
