👍 Did you hear the collective smack of your subscribers swatting our heads and saying, 'WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!?' The habit and pattern of filling empty jars is simple, but WHAT A GAME CHANGER! 😊 Doing the pumpkin pie dry mix now, but trying my dehydrator. Thanks for all you do!

I heard about your channel from Becky at Acrehomestead and have enjoyed all of your videos. I have learned soooo much from watching you. I love watching you interact with the children, you are a wonderful mother and an inspiration for me to do canning and preserving for the first time in my 64 years. Better late than never. Please keep doing you. ❤ I think if I learn one new thing each day I am blessed. I really enjoyed the video of your trip to the zoo. Sending prayers and blessings to you and your family.🙏🥰🐝🐝

The reason home canners can not can things like milk, pumpkin/squash puree & milk is... The commercial canners use a special pressure cooker called a retort machine. It gently rocks and rotates the cans or jars as it pressure cooks them. They also can at higher pressures and temperatures than home canners can reach. My daughter works for a milk processing plant and writes the programs and specs for canning processes as required by the USDA. As part of her job she was taught the reasons such machines as the retort are necessary for specific types of foods across the board

I have 3 pints of red flesh plum purée in the water bath. Last night I water-bathed 2 pints of my ripened garden tomatoes, and I was given some apples I got 4 pints of applesauce and left some out for fresh eating plus I made 4 quarts of apple cider vinegar, a pint of plum vinegar and a quart of plum pear vinegar. Can’t wait till that is ready in a couple of months. I also had done my dried bean pods too as well as coriander cilantro seeds. So nice to have a large amount instead of buying them.

Regarding your loofah sponge processing. Manyvyesrs ago my brother, living in AZ at the time, grew a large loofah plant on his fence. When they were atvthe right maturity he put them in a net bag and hung them in the swimming pool. After about a week they were cleaned of any skin and beautifully soft when wet. We used them in the bath in place of a sea sponge! One more usevfor these versatile gourds. Also, I once read that pumpkin seeds are excelent at helping to prevent kidney stones!

What a great idea, fill before placing it in storage. This year I have felt the urgency to top off as much as possible. I am using every little bit, so we will have a full pantry for winter. I am freeze drying herbs this week, and because I didn't make it very far into fall last year with sweet basil, this year, I am even freeze drying stems and powdering them for additional uses. I have made corn cob jelly, apple scrap jelly and even strawberry scrap syrup/jelly to make things go further. Fall just arrived so early here, and it's moving quickly into cold weather. We will be ready.

Thank you for sharing, I always enjoy seeing a family work together. I make my own dry mixes for baked treats like my apple cake. I find it is time saving to make up the dry ingredients for 2 or 3 cakes while I have all of the items needed at hand. I would do more mixes but my husband is really the pie and cake maker. This apple cake is sort of my specialty! ♥️👍🙏🤓
