Hey! I was trying to remember how I got into Root about a year ago, and I realized it was thanks to you. I am so grateful that you called Root your favorite game, because it is now mine too. I am all in! I'm slowly but surely introducing Root to my friends, and my nephew and niece are excited to learn how to play one day.

If the given vagabond isn't in play, we sometimes replace a faction meeple with the vagabond meeple matching thr animal (badgers -arbiter, cats - scoundrel, eyrie-adventurer) to see if we can invent a backstory for that vagabond, and if the meeple dies, too bad, it gets replaced by a regular faction meeple in the following recruit

I love the little bits of roleplay in boardgames it adds sooo much more than to just play the game there was a game of forbidden desert I played one day and we all roleplayed are DND characters in game and one of are friends drew a pic of the group as DND characters in the forbidden desert setting it was great and so much fun!

I also like to add a 3rd set of corvid plots (conspiracies) - thankfully the supplied replacements help with that! Also, a 3d printed Marquise Keep is a must 😸

Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, I agree that music or ambiance will improve most game nights. For games that are longer than a half hour, imo.

Almost everyone can agree with the Despot Infamy. But what do you guys think about Corvids getting 3 of each plot token instead of standard 2? This rule was used during last Winter Tournament. Any thoughts about it?
@danmorgan75857 ай бұрын
Only started playing this game recently (digital) and was thrilled to find your channel. Can you explain the section where you talk about the Vagabond taking out 3 warriors and 2 tokens in a hostile clearing? I understand every other faction would get two points (0 for taking out the warriors, 1 for each token) but you say the Vagabond would get 7 points - is this correct? I only understand it to be 5 points (1 for each warrior, 1 for each token). Thanks!
@LordoftheBoard7 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s under the Infamy section 9.2.91.a Infamy. Score one extra victory point for each piece of a Hostile faction you remove in battle during your turn, except the warrior that made the faction Hostile. (Add this to points scored for enemy buildings and tokens.) The very end bit means you get 2 for buildings and tokens! Pretty wild! Thanks so much for watching and hope you enjoy this game as much as I do.

Forgetting some rules definitely make it interesting but not necessarily more fun. For example, we got to remove a random card when Lizard's gardens are removed. That made lizards very much more powerful
