Which exercise had the biggest impact on your tightness??
@altonlg24 Жыл бұрын
The first exercise took my palm from touching my knee to a good hand breadth past my knee cap
@altonlg24 Жыл бұрын
I didn't have much if any change from the second exercise, but maybe I wasn't doing it quite right.
@altonlg24 Жыл бұрын
It actually felt or seemed a bit tighter after exercise 3, but I was able to relax to about one breadth past my knee cap after a few seconds.
@altonlg24 Жыл бұрын
The fourth exercise was like the third in that I felt more stiff afterwards except this time I wasn't able to relax quite back to where I had gotten before.

I noticed tension in my ankle during the testing after the exercises, so I used what I learned from you and another to work on my calf. Afterwards I was able to reach about two hand breadths past my kneecap and touched my ankle. I did notice, while testing this time, tension in my hip area and hamstring. I don't remember watching your video(s) on hamstrings yet. I don't know the name of the technique I used that I learned from a different channel, but the idea is to engage the opposing muscle to stretch or while stretching. Do you know if it? Have you talked about it?

Thank you so much. I’ve got all the issues mentioned on my left side from rib cage down to the Achilles. I’ve watched many stretching tips but this is making so much sense, and is easy to follow. I’ll be back daily to keep working on this.

What is the frequency of nerve glides. I want to avoid over doing it. In the past I have over stretched and had the opposite of what I was trying to achieve.
@Romantico1962 Жыл бұрын
I tried this exercises before and many others and at the end was aggravating more the pain, but i don't know why. Stretching that area is not good for me. Thanks for the video.

Hi mate I hope you since found some answers to your issues. If it helps from a general perspective if something aggravates the nerve it’s always worthwhile trying to look at the spinal origin of that nerve for clues as to what might be causing that dysfunction.

I dont feel any tightness behind my knee or hamstrings but in my hips

Do u think anterior pelvic tilt could make my shoulders & arms hurt like hell & then radiate to my wrists & hands. Should I start by foam rolling my whole back, glutes, ham strings & hip flexors?

I can’t give specific advice mate unfortunately as I can’t assess you for myself, but from a general perspective APT is often less likely to relate to upper body issues, but the same thing (ie. daily postures and shapes) can affect both. Clinically the area that often refers to the hands and wrists is the base of the neck and upper back, it might be worthwhile hunting around there or have someone do it for you!

I don't actually know how to put this into words, but, I'm 23 and I've had a couple incidences where as I bend down my lower left back just gives up and I end up unable to put weight on my legs ( mainly left) for a week or so. Since the first time I've been stretching regularly but a week ago it happened again as I was trying to touch my toes while standing (I can normally do this). I'm adding a few stretches I've learnt from you to my routine. Doctors said i most likely have sciatica and prescribed me painkillers which i don't take. Chiropractors just hurt me, idk if that's good or bad tho. Overall I'm just curious as to whether I should just be stretching to fix it or is there more I should be doing. Mainly because I'm young and don't want to be crippled in my 30s.

Hi Joshua, unfortunately I cant give you any specific advice over the internet. But from a general standpoint a healthy functioning low back should feel strong and unrestricted. Its important to find someone who can assess your back and give you some specific advice to follow. If you havent found that person yet keep up the search!

Unfortunately its unethical as I cant physically assess and talk with someone to give the most appropriate advice. Its very easy to tell someone they should do something but the wrong advice could make things worse, or it can be far too easy to overlook more sinister things. Would love to be able to help more but anything more than generala advice is very much frowned upon.

That lower back area! It features a lot, clearly an important area (or the algorithm thinks I need it? 🤔😆) This is very interesting, a different aspect than muscle, something I haven't given much attention in the lower body yet. Have done some "flossing" exercises from a book I found a few years back when I didn't want to buy in to the mainstream "carpal tunnel" story, was very beneficial. Gonna try your suggestions during the week 👌

How do I get my medial soleus to release nerve tension?…it feels like a piano string super sore…and when I poke the tender spot on the medial soleus right below the gastroc I feel pain in the hamstring… and right above the ankle it’s crazy tender…any suggestions?….i have tried the ball but most of my pain is in the medial side of my left soleus

Clinically I’d be interested in how tight someone’s ankle, hip flexors, performs and lower back might be in case they were tensioning things up from above and/or below!

its hard when we believe we know what helps we share , like "wellness nerd " Grant, when we are in pain or discomforts w haven't been able too deal with, we cant always hear things we need to help ourselves and we can listen better after we are helped.
