INSTANTLY Unlock the NEW Exotic Armor Pieces (Rahool Focusing 1st Look) | Destiny 2 The Final Shape

For those having issues: 1) MAKE SURE you reached rank 17. This is what unlocks the new focusing option. 2) Scroll to the 3rd page (to the right) in the Focused Decoding menu. If you don't see 3 menus, then you haven't done #1. Update: For those of you that stored Engrams from either old Legend/Master Lost Sectors or Vex Strike Force, those are confirmed to auto-decrypt when you claim them from your postmaster and (can) decrypt into the newest exotics. I've been getting different reports on how it works and unfortunately I can't say for certain since I didn't prep any of these engrams. How I see it: L/M Lost Sector engrams "follow" the old rotation of a daily exotic slot, even though that is no longer the case. Today is Chest (supposedly), so you have a high chance of getting the new chest pieces from those engrams. For Vex Strike Force engrams, they seem to be able to decrypt into any of the new ones. (The reason I didn't prep any of these engrams is because players after-TFS couldn't get these, so it wasn't an adequate representation of how players could obtain the new exotics.) Additionally, apologies for the "click bait" title. "Instantly" is, I guess, too loose of a term, even though it fits the situation. Not a big fan of click bait, so I try not to include it unless it has a lot of truth in the words. I think the title does.

@@Bluesky-zb6ii No. You need to own the expansion to get expansion related exotics. (The only exception are for special events, like last year's "Riven's Wishes", or the couple that are unlocked from Ikora's exotic quests)

If you run out of engrams you can get engrams from legend lost sectors now (they don’t auto decrypt anymore)

This is ridiculous. I’d way prefer doing lost sectors, since they will be a far smaller time investment. I didn’t know this was in place so I didn’t save up any exotics. Which just sucks to know that it’s going to take me so much longer to do it. Main thing I wanted in the campaign was the rocket titan exotic, and now I’m going to have to wait forever to get it. Absolutely absurd

I got all 6 items just by regularly decrypting exotics. didn't have to focus them at all. pulled them from postmaster

I also had a similar experience, but some of my postmaster exotics turned into adept mods which was really weird. What was even weirder was that one of them turned into just an enhancement core

yeah. Once you reset Xur 1 time, that new 3rd focusing option with Exotic Ciphers is a permanent unlock for the rest of the Episode/Season. So if you have spare ciphers and no other use for them, feel free to focus exotics with em.

Rank 17 unlocks the 3rd page of Focused Decoding. There you can choose any exotic, even those you haven't unlocked yet. (this is the method to unlock new exotics)

yes. New exotics are always tied to their relevant expansion.

By "tier 2 focusing" you mean precision decryption, right? Do you know if we need the DLC to buy DLC exotics at the 'novel decryption' stage?

yes (Bungie uses Tier 2 and precision decryption interchangably). And yes, you need to own/have access to the DLC to get the DLC exotics. However, once you obtain those exotics (say during a F2P weekend), you can then focus them forever.

You still need to own the expansion the exotics are tied to. So you would need to own the Forsaken Pack for that one.

Lost Sectors will now just drop exotic engrams. So this system gives you the flexibility of being to choose what you want as your reward and you can farm LS whenever you want. The tradeoff is that you need prisms/shards/ciphers as a focusing currency.

Absolutely . Usually they let ya play an introductory mission and then want their glimmer to continue . Best to wait until they figure the day one issues before purchasing imho . Never expect to play on day one or two of a new d2 expansion . Good luck bud
