Institution - New Official Take & Hold Level Testing

‪@AntonHand‬ was kind enough to let us try a few runs in a corner of the new level. Still some changes happening, and there is a lot more to the level than just this, but stoked with how well it plays so far. Hope you all enjoy watching!

It's amazing how much better this level looks compared to classic hallways. There's so much more detail. Kinda makes me wish Anton would give the classic map a touch up but that madlad is always busy with so much stuff lol

I'm looking forward to what he might eventually do for a long range TNH map. I'm imagining sort of like Institution, but it has been breached and you fight in the desert outside the structure.

@@zerumsum1640 Oh, yeah, it'd be fun to see the modders have a go at editing the official maps, make their own versions and tweaks. Similar to how Garry's Mod has a billion variations on the classic gm_construct, with all sorts of emphasis (some stick to the idea of prebuilt areas, others incorporate flatgrass' open areas, etc)

Microsoft really knows how to make a complete abomination out of an operating system. I just bought a new laptop for work and it came preloaded with windows 11. In my opinion windows 11 is now second to windows 8 in terms of being awful

That pink camo hipoint reminds me my buddy and I came up with an idea to get a hi point and customize the frack out of it amd make it ready for competition. Lighten the slide, put an o-ring on the barrel like with the USP, compensator, optics... Haven't got around to it yet. I might ring him up this week about it.

The long, slanted corridor with the sliding concrete pillars, while Exceptionally Cool, I hope isn't ever a 'first hold'. Doing that with early Take and Hold weapons would be a waking nightmare I think

This looks amazing! The atmosphere and detail is a huge upgrade. The music being an industrial remix of the old track to better fit the industrial setting is peak. And that slanted hold with the cargo lines? So cool I particularly love the genius node design for those exploding traps; to have spiky armor that becomes fragmentation when they explode. Anton srsly proving he's a cut above the rest

I have an OG vive, mainly for cost reasons, and it's true. The resolution is.... underwhelming, and the camera on mine is seemingly on it's last leg, but the controllers have a nice feel and I haven't broken them yet, despite the best efforts of my walls

I am so excited for this level to get its debut, I haven't put nearly as many hours as most into H3VR but Hallways has always been a map that felt well balanced but almost too safe to me. I'm excited for a refreshing new locale to fight in! As an aside, I personally really liked the handcam in your prior videos. It absolutely isn't an essential so if you don't bring it back, no biggie, just wanted to chime in that it was liked and appreciated previously :) Whatever you choose to do, just don't stress too much about the fine details and try to focus on enjoyment over anything

Worst case with a machine pistol, you usually end up with a high cap 9mm pistol. And I can hopefully find a stock later on. There are some "interesting" pics in that category though. I think you can get the French horseshoe mag from it. Edit- You're in ori, nevermind. No French fun for you

I wish there were a mod to remove some of the stanag magazines. Like the 5 and 50 round mags. I forget if there's also a 15 or 25 round magazine. So annoying trying to upgrade mags for an AR and having to go through so many.

I do like the single supply point, but I really hope he changes the spawner then because you get fewer chances to get a gun you want. I feel it also messes with the economy just a little bit now that you at maximum can get one single token.

Plus, a huge part of the gameplay is getting from point to point and fighting. That's also lost. Maybe you have to "discover" each supply point, and then you can teleport between them? What do you think of that idea?

@@Scott.E.H i feel like the move to a single supply is a net positive for the size of this map (im only playing about 20% of it here) but maybe you are guaranteed like 1-2 extra tokens through exploration or patrol kills somehow to all for a couple rerolls. Idk, complex issue, above my knowledge as a game designer 😅

No mods in this video. Do you mean the way i can tele-grab the items and they fling to me? Look for an option called Grabbity Gloves in the options panel

You know, given the giant escalatator down to that point and then back up again, I think anton intended you to actually go down to that point and come back up instead of sniping at it ineffectually for two minutes. I know it's a different approach to classic take and hold.

14:20 I know how to fix that, theirs a special partition on the drive that has the MBR on it you can move the partition to the main boot drive or delete and remake it without a wipe.

GOD I had the same windows boot thing happen to me. It's a nice feature, I suppose, but why it decides to do it during install, I couldn't tell you. My rule now is to unplug everything except the desired system drive before installing windows.

Valve Index full kit. If you can find a lightly used one at a good price, i recommend. Valve still selling them at the original price of $1000 USD even though it is getting to be old hardware makes it tough to recommend
