Institutional Radio Choir has that signature sound

The tenors though...soundin' like TEENAGERS! They running them top notes with EASE!!! Really the whole choir sounds like they have all taken EXCELLENT care of their voices across than 50 years of singing.

My brothers (Alvin, Earl the Bass man and Michael White), myself and others used to walk from Refuge Church of Christ on Greene & Classon Aves all the way across Brooklyn to get to 170 Adelphi St many a Sunday night! If You know Brooklyn, you know That Walk was NO JOKE🤪 So many from all over would pack that downstairs sanctuary out!!! Institutional was where my parents grew up and got married! Rev. Al White and Evang. Janet White sang all over with the JC White Singers🤗. Such Rich LEGACIES COME FROM 170!!! I miss those days! Keep me in prayer Saints, Love, Sheila (White) Curtis

I miss this sound in our churches. Holiness with a REAL anointing!
@imjustlooking8887 жыл бұрын
This is REAL choir singing. There is NO special group in front of the choir with individual mics giving you a false “clean” choral sound (I hate that!) ALL of the choir is singing which makes a TRUE gospel sound. Can I get a witness?

I can't stand it either! It's called CHEATING and not wanting to TEACH your choir how to SING like we USED to teach. Nowadays they want the singers to come already Pro-Level because these leaders are too lazy to TEACH them

We used to sing this when I was a little boy but I never knew who recorded it. I am not surprised it was Institutional. Refreshing Spring was "Institutional South" when it came to choir music. LOL We sang so much of their music.
@Onlyone-m6f4 жыл бұрын
Is Refreshing Springs the same choir Myrna Summers sang with on Uncloudy Day?
@kevinbouknight13084 жыл бұрын
Yes, Refreshing Spring is the choir singing behind Myrna Summers on Uncloudy Day, I Found Jesus And I'm Glad, So Glad I'm Here, and I'll Keep Holding On. It's the church where she was born and raised.

@kevinbouknight13084 жыл бұрын
@@dougiemac8417 Douglas, I am smiling so widely at your comment. Now, Bishop Bouknight was my great-uncle Solomon. The Bouknight Specials were my great-uncle Richard's children. Solomon and Richard were both pastors in DC and sometimes would travel together. One time, they came to my dad's church (Solomon's and Richard's nephew) in New England and churched so hard, we literally put a hole in the sanctuary floor!
