I just had my Vasectomy last Friday. This is day 7 for me and recovery was smooth. I didn’t have any pain but slight soreness so definitely ice as that helps a lot. Most importantly I just got a round in with my wife and everything was normal no pain and the most importantly the finish was better then ever. Goodluck if you are thinking about getting it done as i recommend it for sure if your done having kids.

Good thing i watched this, i was going to use Neosporin or vaseline for a more speedy recovery but now I know to keep it dry

6 hours into day 1. Slight bleeding from incision site. Using a dry 4x4 to cover incision site. Using ice in a zip lock with that inside a thin sock. No swelling. Pain is a dull ache. I'm tolerating te cold from the ice pack better than I thought. Looks like the doc snipped about 1.25 inches of vas deferens tune... I'm 69 years old.

Had this done today… mine hurt a lil bit. They had to inject my left ball 3 times 😤 recovery is going ok I guess. Just feels weird but ice and Tylenol defenetly help. Thanks doc!

I have 2 questions: 1.- What if I don't have a stich? - the doctor that did the procedure said that there was no need and it would close on its own 2.- In my case, 3 months does not equal 20 ejaculations; my wife and I are very active and 20 ejaculations would take a month roughly, should I still wait 3 months or maybe 2? Is it more of a time thing or a number of ejaculations thing?

It’s a matter of time. Doctor told me I can’t just go 20 times in 2 weeks and he cleared up because that doesn’t give the left over sperm enough time to make it into the semen or something

Update. Im now 3 weeks into recovery. No more pain. Just a little discomfort every once in a while. 10/10 would recommend for anyone thinking about doing it. Its easy peasy. Just follow doctors orders. Take it easy!

I work a lab job and can only be of 2 days. I'm getting it this coming Monday and I'll have to be back at work Wednesday morning. Do you think I'll be fine all I'll have to do is sit in a lab and watch screens most of the time.

@@Filet4528 went well. Just make sure you get supportive underwear. And yeah mine itched I still washed in the area but it'll definitely itch. About the 4th day it'll get worse until they fall out pretty much.

Hi Doc, quick question. can i resume gardening (mowing, walking, etc) say 5 days after procedure? i work in that field and cant take much time off...i'll take it easy of course and gradually ease back into my routine but i know no squating, deadlifts etc

I had mine done yesterday. I didn’t really have any pain afterwards I didn’t really have any swelling so I didn’t use ice. Next day was better no pain really One of my wounds already closed the other is still a little open but not completely open. Overall it wasn’t to bad.

I had mine done Monday and my right side still feels like trash. Basically it’s been 6 days. The swelling has went down a bit, but I keep Ice on it. Is it still normal to have this much discomfort moving around?

Little pain, bruises and swelling go away after 1-2 weeks. However if you have lots of pain or swelling, call your doctor. They could be signs of infection. if you are uncertain; call your doctor. It's always best to ask a professional

Did it all- still a mess. The absolute worst thing I’ve ever done- been well over a year- massive regret and it put an incredible strain on my marriage. I felt like a secondary concern during mine it was treated like a woman’s health issue The minimisation of the risks and the flat out lies I was told are what keep going round in my head as they made it impossible for me to make an informed decision. Even when this goes well it still damages the male body and has long term health implications. Thankfully a reversal has all but eliminated the pain but my heads still a mess.

He says about 45 second in that ejaculating too soon (within 7ish days) can lead to bruising and bleeding.

@@stephen7865 felt only pressure only thing that hurt was the pinch from the needle. After I forgot I had it done. But I highly suggest taking the meds for 3 days and sit on the couch. After the 3rd day, you will forget you had it done.

Had mine done last week. The left one was swollen and hurt through the week. It was the one which was done by what I guess was a student bc he took much longer than the main doc that did my right. Now I feel like a kind of lump between the base of my tool and my left testicle. It's in the sack but closer to my body. My follow up is Monday. Hope this isn't too bad. I was told both by my doctors. You should only consider yourself sterile after taking a fertility test at the end of that time period and after 20 ejaculations just to be on the safe side.
