Description for WRIT 3562W
1. Using the provided embroidery ring, loosen the screw that keeps the two rings together. The rings will fully separate.
2. Place the square piece of fabric on top of the smaller ring.
3. Place the larger ring on top of the fabric so that the fabric is between the small and large ring.
4. Tighten the screw until the fabric is secured between both rings.
5. Sketch a heart on the fabric using a pen or chalk. The heart can be any size desired but should be at least ½ inch smaller than the embroidery ring.
6. Cut a 2 foot long piece of thread
7. Insert the thread through the eye of the needle and pull 4 inches of thread through the needle.
TIPS: Cut the end of the string at an angle, lick/wet the edge of the thread to help the fibers stay together. This step may take a minute so be patient.
8. On the opposite end of the thread, make a knot. Double knot for security.
9. Starting at the bottom edge of the heart, push the needle through the back of the fabric and pull snug until the knot at the end of the string is against the back of the fabric.
10. Poke the needle ⅛” away from the initial stitch through the back of fabric, following the outline of the heart.
11. Once at the back of fabric, push the needle 1/4” past the initial stitch. Now there will be a small gap in between the stitches.
12. Push the needle through the previous stitch hole (going backwards with the needle) and pull through. There should be 2 stitches now with no gaps.
13. Repeat this stitch until the design is complete, stitching forward and backward around the outline of the heart.
14. Once you have reached your starting point, pull the needle to the back of the fabric. Make a knot by looping the string through a previous stitch. Repeat 2 times for security.
15. Trim loose threads and excess fabric outside of the embroidery ring.

When you pull the thread 4 inches through the needle, do you not tie those 4 inches off? Does the thread just stay in the needle?

Is the back supposed to be messy? If so, is there any way I could try to not do that or could I cut them?
