Boy do I miss flying ILS Approaches in my 172 back in the 80s. No better feeling of accomplishment than descending down on the needles through the muck to minimums at a never been there before airport. Lost my medical years ago. Your video made me happy. Thanks.

Eric, this is by far one of _the_ best IFR vectors, transition, approach, and landing videos that I have ever watched. This is my first time watching one of your videos, and based on the overall experience of watching it, I'm subscribing.

That was fun! Wasn’t sure about the “ back taxi” at first but it made sense. Thanks!

3:54 looks like you've got something gong on with your magnetic card compass. That's more than just lead/lag.

Clear audio and nice camera angle/quality. Keep it up and safe flying.

I have a question- did not the controller need to clear you to cross 6/24? At least, that's how it looked on my screen. Really enjoyed your videos as they popped up on my feed- as a not-too-active private it's a good look at how flying is.
@Eric.JohnsonАй бұрын
I think that's correct, the controller should clear the runway crossing as well - good comment. So glad you are enjoying the videos

8:45 "HARD right turn, traffic on a 3 MILE FINAL!!!!" ...bonanza proceeds to land 3 business days later

I flew in there two days ago. It's no longer 28R. Just 28 now. Charts aren't updated but controllers are now referring to it.

Fly into KIAG all of the time. Know those approaches like the back of my hand. Love 28R, SO much runway. Remember to land long to turn off on K to C to H. BUF approach is quite accommodating compared to NY and the DC area but of course not near as busy.,

Wow! No one said MSFS2024 was this realistic!! Sheeesh, I'm placing an order immediately.

It seems like you started configuring very early and then dragged the plane slowly to the airport...was there a reason ?
@Eric.Johnson3 ай бұрын
That's a normal instrument approach in a Bonanza- with gear down on glideslope intercept (but not the only way to do it)

Buttered it.

Looks like you're getting kicked around there a bit. Typical in WNY
@colin-nekritz3 ай бұрын
Wind is a constant, especially late September through May, which coincides with the fact WNY gets nine months of winter and, if lucky, three months of something approximating summer.
@georgefoster63803 ай бұрын
I noticed it too, lots of control inputs to deal with the wind.

Definitely some gusts after getting to the clouds and below. I remember the ride across lake Erie being pretty smooth - so the overall flight from Toronto was great.
