The airspeed indicator is connected to a diaphragm, the only instrument that is connected to aneroid wafer is the altimeter man!

I am pretty familiar with these systems, but I still picked up a couple of tidbits: standard day pressure sealed into the altimeter aneroid, and the orientation of the turn indicator gyro. Cool...learn at least one new thing every day.

Great video! However, the altimeter is the only instrument that contains a sealed aneroid wafer with 29.92 ISA pressure. The VSI and ASI contain a diaphragm that receives static pressure from the ambient atmosphere.

Off-topic rant. I do not like the term "Steam Gauges". Seems like a pejorative term contrived by glass cockpit manufacturers to convey the idea of old-fashioned. "Analog Gauges" makes more sense. It just feels like the aviation community was manipulated by marketing teams. Not a big deal... just sits poorly.
