I appreciate the concept of this video.. I am surprised you didn’t include the fact that you need to squeeze the excess water out of the sponge before you apply makeup. I feel like that’s a crucial bit of info that people will miss. Regardless, I do like the overall message.. But...that color 100% did not change because of the cream blush. It changed to pink because the Beauty Blender pink dye rinses out.

She did

I just asked if we were to. Someone here suggests that she did. Hmmm? I'll have to view one more time. Because if she did I didn't catch it. Or maybe the she did is referring to something else.

@@KK-cs6ou she did squeeze out sponge when cleaning although I don't know if she said so, however I have watched this video twice and didn't hear her mention to squeeze the sponge out before application. Which I believe is to what this commenter is referring. An unfortunate and important miss in the video.

@@sleepwalkerZZZ0:36 I think she meant squeeze out the water when she said “we’re gonna get rid of our water” but it could easily be confused for getting rid of the bowl of water

Do I have to clean my wet sponge after every use? If not after I use it what do I do just let it air dry?

If you use the packaging for drying like that it will create the perfect environment for growing mold... (It looks like black dots btw)

Thank you for the video. Although this video was made several years ago, a recent article in your magazine, "The 5 Best Makeup Sponges of 2022 posted a link to this video. Regarding beauty sponge hygiene and maintenance, I thought I might include a quote directly from Dr. Amreen Bashir of Ashton University research regarding how to care for a beauty sponge. It's high time vendors of cosmetic sponges come clean about the importance of thoroughly drying cosmetic sponges before using them. According to Dr. Bashir, "More needs to be done to help educate consumers and the make-up industry as a whole about the need to wash beauty blenders regularly and dry them thoroughly, as well as the risks of using make-up beyond its expiry date." As a Dr. of Health Education, I agree with her. If a beauty sponge is being used that has not been thoroughly dried and is being dipped in to expired makeup or makeup in general, it presents a health risk to the consumer because the sponge was never thoroughly dried. The video presupposes that the consumer is using the sponge from a dried state. Secondly, I think if you are going to tell your readers that the Ulta "sponge is made from silicone, it is fair to also let your readers know what the beauty sponges are made from--hydrophilic polyurethane foam. Hydrophilic polyurethane foam inherently wants to retain water thus making it challenging to dry. Lastly, It would be wonderful to read an article in InStyle that focuses on the packaging of beauty sponges and how the current packaging approach to beauty sponges doesn't address the entire beauty sponge user experience; neither does it address issues related to hygiene, maintenance and storage. Who wants an award winning beauty sponge that comes with hygiene and maintenance challenges.

I'm under the impression that the sponge does need to be squeezed out after it has been soaked and before applying makeup. I have seen other videos edited with typed words during the talking saying what was missed. It would be nice if this video were edited in such a way to prevent someone from possibly to probably ruining some very expensive makeup.

Do you squeeze out excess water after soaking? I would think so. If so, that was not mentioned at all. Never assume we know this if it is the case. I say this because I could see very very expensive makeup completely ruined if it gets hit with an a sponge that should be squeezed out. Someone please let me know. I'm gifting this and sending video to gifted.
