This animation assumes you've already taken care of that. I'll so an interior curtain drain and sump pump in an upcoming one, but needed to knock something simple out when I did this one.

It is mandatory to use non-flammable insulation in timber constructions. XPS burns very easily and fumes are extremely toxic!

Could this assembly replace a concrete slab assuming adequate drainage/vapor barrier below

I would advise against it for many reasons. Termites, Water, Uneven and shifting substrate, too easy for the undead to break through, critters

Well, it sits atop a concrete slab. It insulates and isolates the schilly slab. To replace a slab, see out video about an insulated floating subfloor over a slabless slab: www.protradecraft.com/home/video/55181371/animation-floating-insulated-subfloor-on-a-slabless-slab

This solution is flammable, fumes are toxic. The only way to use XPS (or any other plastic insulation) is to put it BETWEEN two slabs of concrete. Soil -> concrete -> plastic cover -> insulation (use EPS-120 instead of XPS, it will be twice cheaper) -> reinforced concrete
