No air gap between insulation and OSB panels , no vapour barrier.... Look forward to damp and mould coming through... If fitting a frame, best to drill through the wood battens and into the wall.. Then use hammered in screws... Or you'll have alignment issues and waste time.. On older homes like this you need to look at breathability in the walls or you'll have problems..

Just did this process from my baby barn shed which came with the house I bought. Im trying to make it into a little shop for myself and I didnt know what to do with the doors, which have a gap in the middle and are basically just plywood barn doors like you had. Foam board insulation with strapping and OSB, So simple yet effective, Thanks for the solution!

Looking great! I did the same thing to my shop and office. I love it! You can hang anything anywhere. If you paint the OSB use a good stain killer first. It bleeds through without it. I learned the hard way.

+P Cs Thanks, oh! You don't need to apologize! Yeah I think I go with the Primer-paint route. Its simpler and cheaper than the BLO primer mix.

Nice layout , but one thing to remember, when you have concrete walls and floor if you put your stats directly in contact with cement those will collect moisture in the long run and you need to change them more often than you think. You can add between wood slats and wall a rubber or pressed cartoon as a barrier and eliminate direct contact.

Im doing this to my shop as well. After painting some of it Im really liking it, and beginning to wonder why more people dont use this instead of sheetrock. I like it better then sheetrock.

Yes it's much better suited for shop use, you can put in screws wherever you want!

This is a wise man wearing the protective suit & breathing apparatus. I can't barely touch that stuff anymore. I can handle poison ivy & natural stings and so on but that fiberglass gets in to the skin & lungs & I am NOT exaggerating! people can harrass you about other safety nellies but this is legit. way to go Olaris nice to see you are able to upgrade your shop!

Jason Gardner - Although all the protection is welcomed. An important note, he's using "Rockwooll", not fiberglass. Rockwooll is not as bad as fiberglass, it's a MUCH more "friendly" product, if we can use such a word. As better insulation, soundproofing and moist resistance capabilities. Only fault by comparison... It's more expensive. :-( With this said I run from fiberglass as much as possible. :-)

Если климат холодный, а гараж отапливаемый - это все напрасный труд (( неизбежный конденсат - минеральная вата намокнет и перестанет работать как утеплитель, увы... Правда, если климат теплый и сухой, то такой вариант работать будет и поможет сэкономить на кондиционировании ))) ну мало ли =) DD При внутреннем утеплении, безо всякого каркаса, берем лист эппс (экструдированный пенополистирол) клеим на него, в одинаковый размер, лист смл ( стекломагнезитовый лист ), повышенной влагостойкости, на полиуретановый клей... Далее, полученную панель - полусендвич - бутерброд, клеим по рядно, снизу вверх, уступом, по типу кирпичной кладки, стороной эппс к стене. Клеим на полиуретановую клей - пену, не путать с монтажной пеной, дополнительно крепим к стене пластиковыми грибками и дюбелями. Заделываем швы, шпаклюем, красим, или наносим декоративную штукатурку. Если отделка под покраску, то потребуется предварительное выравнивание стен песко - цементной штукатуркой, если отделка - фактурная декоративная штукатурка, под кирпич, дикий камень и т.д., то предварительное выравнивание можно не проводить, достаточно устранить значительные изъяны стен. Не забываем о вентиляции такого помещения. Этот вариант универсальный и 100% рабочий,, хотя и более трудозатратный. Но вы получите реальное утепление - теплоизоляцию, влаги оно не боится, обладает определенной пожаростойкостью и никакой гниющей органики в пироге, конвективных потоков, мостиков холода. Не благодарите ))))

How many R value of that material? Isn't that mineral wool you're using? No green plate on the floor? They sell sheathing with 16 and 24 marks for framing... I commend you for your work and dedication.

+Paul F sorry they don't measure that in R value over here. I don't know what that green plate is, I never seen markings on our OSB plates, at least where I buy my stuff. Thank you!

Paul F - If memory serves well Rockwool should have an R value of >4 per inch (US units), I believe is using 5 cm (2 in) batts. 40 cm (16in) can be found in Europe, but by far the most common is 60 cm (24in)

Now that you have installed insulation how are you going to handle condensation - I note that you did not install a vapour barrier prior to installing the OSB. 2. I note you are wiring your outlets with a single cable - this means they are all acting as spurs - should you have not run the outlets as a ring circuit (one cable into outlet, one cable out)? Good job though.👍

+Norman Boyes Thank you very much! I have built in an automatic ventilating fan in one corner of the shop. The electrical is a 3phase that goes to 2 boxes on opposing walls and then different phases go to the individual outlets.

I don’t have any issues with it. Holds up just fine. It was a bit smelly for the first month or so. I’ll guess that was the glue.

Angol Cég gyátja ezeket a gépeket, Az ár érték arány teljesen megfelelő, körülbelül közepes minőségűnek mondhatom kategorizálni körülbelül a Zöld Bosch mellé helyezném ami persze nem egy Dewalt és messze elmarad egy Festool tól. Sajnos tudomásom szerint jelenleg nem kaphatók magyarországon. és a gyártó nem is tervezi a közeljövőben.
