Nope! The Styrofoam and bubble insulation is super light. I was thinking I might have to adjust the current sensitivity but I didn't have to do that either.

You must’ve got a screaming deal on your materials. Pricing out this project for my standard two car garage door is an excess of 300+ dollars.

Oh crazy! You can see the materials prices at the store in the full video.

Can you tell if it makes a difference in temperature?
@danielrvillaАй бұрын
Yes as that door is facing south and gets sun much of the day. We also insulated the walls and attic space above the garage, so all together it's a huge difference!

What did you use above the garage?@@danielrvilla
@danielrvillaАй бұрын
We put in two layers of rockwool insulation. The first went between the joists, the second layer ran perpendicular to cover the first layer and the joists, to prevent heat transfer.

@@danielrvilla What did you do to insulate the walls? Our outer wall is already drywalled, and I would really like to avoid having to tear out drywall and re doing it
@danielrvilla21 күн бұрын
@@lowkeynerd5449 my mom's garage was just studs so we put in rockwool insulation, then covered it up with drywall. You could "drill and fill" between each pair of studs with blown in cellulose insulation, but then you have to patch all the holes up again.

youre the only one that has this type of garage door. Every other garage door in the world has vertical support members. Jk. Seriously, your garage door is not typical
@danielrvillaАй бұрын
Hah well I hope it's useful for all the atypical doors out there!

Use magnets. Tape them to the garage door. Screw washers in the insulation.
