That's some amount of expanding foam used Mark! A couple of lit candles could eventually heat your van up if the door seals are good enough. Good job mate👍😊
@Iveavan5 жыл бұрын
Haha, that's only half the tins bud, yep, only heating I've had overwinter was from that halogen light, with very rare use of the oil heater on short blast when frosty😉👍👍👍

Great vids dude. Check no insulation has fell into the triangular supports or sills at the bottom of the van as it will be a moisture/rust trap. Currently insulating my MWB daily and noticed this 👍👍.
@Iveavan4 жыл бұрын
Cheers bud 👌👍, I waxed oyled all the sills and outriggers prior doing the insulation, as I noticed that the expandable foam does reach into some of those area's 😉👍👍👍.

Hi Mark. great job on insulation. especially using the expanded offcuts to fill in voids. Why waste this material as it costs enough to buy and you allways end up using more than you thought. Barry

Sorry to hear about your dog. Very thorough job with the insulation. Gonna be toasty warm with the 50mm :) merry Xmas.

Thank you Luke 👍, well I'm hoping it will be, and cool in the summer, it's been time consuming but nearly there with the floor insulation to go in. Merry Christmas to you too mate 😉👍👍👍.

Very impressed with all your episodes but it seemed like a massive load of messing. Cheaper and quicker and just as effective methods out there when insulating?. Anyway....I admire all your work.
@Iveavan5 жыл бұрын
Cheers matey 🍻👍, yes, I agree with you regarding the mess and the time consuming job, but it does work, I've only had to put the heating on a couple of times, the of rest the time, heat from the halogen light was contained well once Insulated. And in summer when it was 46°C in the cab, it was only 19°C in the back of the van bud 😉👌👍👍👍.

Arhhh the shitty bubble wrap stuff lol.. Some people use that as insulation even though it's really got no insulation properties although on the metal supports etc it's gonna help with the cold bridging I imagine.. I wish it were easier to find small box vans it would make life very easy for conversion, driving a Luton about doesn't seem practical somehow.
@Iveavan4 жыл бұрын
Haha no, just used it for a vapour barrier only bud, but saying that, never had any condensation in the van, and thinking about it I did it twice with covering the walls with leatherette 🤔😉👍👍👍.

@@Iveavan yeah not got to that bit yet, started watching the diesel heater video, thought il watch from the start.. Keep looking at vans thinking they seem so expensive but weighing up the work involved it's a lot of messing about but I guess you don't know how someone else's done it.. Hence thinking with box vans all nice and square plus you don't have the body rusting to think about, bt has smallish one they use for cable pulling they get converted bit but it's a transit so likely it's gonna need welding on the cab lol... Paint must be to dear for manufacturers or do they just shy on it for nefarious purposes lol.
