I am a staff adjuster with a large company and I love Chad's videos. From watching his videos, he is a person with integrity and do right for his clients with his knowledge and experience. I've learn a lot from the content he provide. It's all about integrity and knowing your boundaries no matter your role. So I do agree with his process and approach dealing with insurance companies. As a staff adjuster, I try my best to include all items involved during a project.

I've heard an insurance claim that claimed to not pay for any storm damages since they were excluded in the policy. Once this was communicated from the Contractor the insurance quickly approved the additional storm damages.

Chad, thanks for uploading this material. I'm currently subscribed to your IES course and have benefited from it leaps and bounds coming from not knowing anything about dealing with the insurance companies. Quick question as I'm early in my insurance restoration career, how do you advise dealing with an insurance adjusters roof estimate that is using sites like material supply warehouse to provide a lower material cost than the xactimate price list on their estimate

Tell them you do not agree to their pricing. Stand firm and demonstrate to them that you aren’t going to accept the reductions. Just a regular old contractor who's trying to use the same pricing system/program to make it easier for everyone all around. Just got stumped when I saw the roofing materials being shopped around for on a client's AND my own home's (separate agencies) adjustment after last year's tornadoes. Xactimate does NOT set or reflect industry pricing and SAYS SO.... #7 in the terms and conditions. They have their pricing based in historical data they get from FEEDBACK of users... Guess who provides 85% of that feedback? Insurance adjusters, NOT contractors. Xactimate is 10+ year old pricing.
