Whenever I play Insurgency I always think "why don't I play this more" every time I play it, but never stick to playing it. It's a really nice balance of a realistic tactical shooter but not too hardcore as it still has a clear objective, has smaller maps and it's close quarters. Started playing again in the last week and think I'll continue!

Whenever I play, I can only do like 2 rounds and then do something else. I think it's because it's so intense. Then again I've lately done that with Halo Infinite and Aliens: Fireteam Elite, lol, but I like all those games

I really want games like this and Hell Let Loose to get more recognition and more players. Like many people after being disappointed time and time again with some of the big AAA games it’s so refreshing playing games like Insurgency which actually work and are just pure fun.

Some matches play amazing in this game. You learn the enemy's strategy, talk a counter strategy over with the team and you really feel like you belong to the moment, helping your fellow boys crush the enemy. It's fascinating. For some reason I never feel as important as a teammate in more competitive games like CS or R6: Siege. At the same time, I don't feel any pressure at all. The community is really sweet also, all trying to work together and help each other out. The comms are very healthy, unlike the upper mentioned Siege or CS

I'm surprised Jack that you haven't been playing this more. I've put some hours into this game last few years, and now mostly BF, but I've been meaning to go back to it for a go, and you reaffirmed it... This game is rudimentary in comparison to a whole sandbox per say, but it's immersion still hits different. It feels a little more grounded than the run and gun twitch shooter. I don't think we've heard the last of these devs.

Its games like this, Hunt and Hell let loose that need more promotion than ever (at least for console players). They, compared to modern Call of Duty or Battlefield actually have a soul. We need more games like this supported on console. I don't think I could cope with another generation of mediocre "triple A" games.

ITs only Draw back on Console is not Button Mapping and the default controls are nightmarish . ITS should be an industry standard Custom Button mapping on all FPS . but i do love the TTK and no hud just wish they'd ditch aim assist . when i played on PC i used steam controller support and played with controller WO aim assist (its not even available )its amazing how good you can get with out AIm assist on controller BF4 also does this on PC . cause all console game ghosts in aim assist even if you turn it off its still there they ghost it in not sure how or why but i feel the difference between PC no aim assist and console no aim assist

Omg, talking about CS and DOD and even Ricochet!! I remember playing CS 1.6 when it first came out, i was maybe 10?? And the mods that followed, epic! At the time, COD on PC was pretty much the start of online first person shooters along with CS and DOD of course. Installing COD on PC was 6 discs!! That to me was truly the start of the online shooters and I remember playing the licing heck out of it! Great video by the way!!

I haven't played Insurgency in years, it's great to see that this game has come along in leaps and bounds. I might get back into it again...with great radio chatter among players, it was always an excellent game where the sound fx was concerned. Also giving the weapons some real heft and oomph about them. Good gameplay, good graphics, and good weapon rendering always made Insurgency better than it was quoted for, a very understated game.

So glad you mentioned The Specialist. My brother and I would play that for hours and there has not been a game since to scratch that ridiculous gun play that game had. I would talk to my friends about it and not one had any memory of that game existing. There is a game that took the principle game play of The Specialist called Double Action: Boogaloo. Run -n- Gun play with slow mo and diving. You should give it a shot if you get a chance.

One thing that i love in this game is the way they made the shotgun, at most of the games i hate to play and to see others playing with it, in this game i love to play with the shotty, because every weapon is viable, so they dont have a advantage or disadvantage over any, and they portrail it more realistic and dont nerf in medium range too.

The Specialists was my favourite! I still play it every now and then. The movement was ahead of its time with the wall flipping, diving etc. Also the melee combos were sick. It had such memorable maps, also from movies, like ts_lobby being the lobby from The Matrix with destructable pillars.

That was the absolute hayday of half life mods back when garrys mod was just coming out and no one knew how to do anything yet xD. The Specialists is still one of my favorite games every I'm so happy you brought it up I could never remember the name and it was driving me crazy lol. That game was so ahead of it's time, they really could re-make it today and still be a successful hit today if it was priced at like $30-$40.

I like this game, I've been playing more ever since BF2042 lol, What amazes me on this game is how intense it feels at times plus I've encountered very cool players that do not exploit the game's feature like friendly fire , if they shoot you by mistake they apologize most of the times and people don't really go around been trolls and killing their own teammates , I've had some very fun intense gameplay in this game and is becoming one of my favorite FPS to play!!!!!!

I love Sandstorm. I think it's replayability is a little on the low side but such a great tactical shooter. I'm on console so I don't get the sweet sweet ISMC mods. Really hope they continue to support this game. Now that BF is a dead franchise, this is all I have 😭 I'd also recommend playing more Co-op, I prefer that so much more than PVP. Biggest complaint is no private marches, I'd love to get the boys together and run these maps

I find aggression takes a lot of people by surprise in this game, as most people play so cautiously. Kicking doors in and blasting with a shotgun is very satisfying and surprisingly effective when done right.
