Destabilizing Rounds could definitely use a buff. Honestly think the cooldown could be removed entirely and it would be fine, not overpowering.

Honestly, Destabilizing Rounds doesn’t feel like it needs a cooldown, but if they wanted, they could try going the route of of Jolting feedback. Keep the cooldown, but remove it when you have a void over shield.

They would only really need the cooldown on primary weapons simply cause spreading that much volatile around is excessive for the game probably. Specials and most heavies should have it removed, but maybe a smaller cooldown on primaries, cause I agree it does somewhat hold the perk back

For my Prismatic / Void Hunters running Gyrfalcons, I found the winning PVE combo on this sidearm to be Repulsor Brace + One for All. Similar to Firefly and One for All on Midnight Coup, once you go invisible and down an single target, the volatile explosions will proc another two enemies nearby to activate the 35% damage boost and you get the volatile chain. Much easier to activate and sustain than Surrounded and you don't have to change targets mid-fight. I still have a Repulsor Brace / Destablizing Rounds roll for my Getaway Warlock and Icefall Titan, but I was surprised how well this other combo worked for my legend onslaught run.

@CoolGuy you've always talked about weapons as tools, filling a specific roll and playstyle. I'm in desperate need to clean out my vault, and need to narrow things down to what does the roll best. So I was wondering, what are the tools in your toolbox? Maybe you can make a video about that as a change up from your typical reviews (which are fantastic BTW)?

@CoolGuyGames awesome! To add context: I'm really interested in the list of tools, not necessarily their "brand" (aka the actual gun name and roll,). The brand will change as better guns are released. What stays constant? Maybe a legendary tool to do sustained damage on a chunky target (currently braytech werewolf KT RR) or the fastest ADS sniper in PVP (currently Mechabre). To keep the analogy, I know I need a hammer and a screw driver, but maybe I'll learn that I also need to find and keep an angle grinder that I didn't know was a thing I should look for.

Fusions' shotguns can still get rolled easily. Fusions destroy the entire game, the entire trials weekend pretty much 65% of my total deaths were fusions.

Just throwing this out there, harmony for me is one of my favourite perks on a sidearm, but lost a lot of value with special ammo nerfs. Having two sniper shots ready to go and then being able to swap to a sidearm and get into a sort of rhythm or flow with the two felt great. But now it's a really punishing combo to try and make work 😅

Personally, I have a hard time using a sidearm unless it plays well into my build and repulse/destabilize doesn't do it for me. With devour, I don't see the value in an overshield, so demo/surrounded is a dream. Chunky damage and grenades back in 5 kills with devour up is unbeatable.

I also just think that volatile itself is so far behind jolt ignitions and shatter. That’s before you even get into the state of destabilizing rounds

I was looking for lone wolf and harmony for a good while. I settled on lone wolf and closing time. Ive got too much going on rn to worry about perks. I just wanted something to use when shotgun apes are pushing me.

I’ve never been much of a Harmony enjoyer, I find that my kill perks are better suited on the gun that I’m using at that moment. For example, if I’m in a position to get a kill with my pulse then I’m not typically in a position to swap to my sidearm, I’m likely playing longer sections of the map and swapping to a sidearm would mean needing to then run into a tighter section. I’d prefer to keep running my Swift Verdict with Surplus and KC, and a 390 or 340 pulse with something like Kill Clip or Tricorn

i main sidearms and precision frame are very good in pvp i'm still using the one you get from seasonal rank lone wolf + closing time and it's very good, the range of insurmountable is so good, i duel mid range with this beast

Repulsor brace + destabilizing round has never felt good to me. Tried it on multiple weapons, i still see a cooldown between volatile explosions on kill, repulsive brace never procs when I expect it to. I picked up attrition orbs + desperate measures, and I think I'll get more use from that. Maaaaaybe one-for-all

Peacebond is worth the chase. Every roll i've tried feels amazing. Best of luck if you decide to go for it next week in Iron Banner. I'll be hunting for the roll that shall not be spoken of.

Anyone else really find the scope annoying. I feel like I’m losing my 2nd and 3rd shots because the dot is too low to the weapon barrel… Not a problem in PvE, but a massive turn off in PvP.

Destabilizing rounds shouldn’t have a cooldown and it’s too weak compared to Voltshot and Incandescent and the new Jolting Feedback.. I think they should rework the perk where multiple precision hits or multiple hits make the target Volatile and/or keep it the same without the cooldown and buff Volatile.. the whole Void kit is underwhelming.

FYI precision frame sidearms do awful primary DPS in PvE so if you take this into harder content you’ll feel it. It’s literally worse than SMGs and they’re terrible right now

SMG red bar DPS is like 19k~ while even the worst sidearms are still at 25k red bar DPS, that's basically an entire Rampage x3 difference. Though SMGs in general are falling behind other primaries now with the amount of buffs everything else has gotten.
