I would suggest to have an animation or "holding key" to burn the cursed items rather than chucking it in and call it a day, that'd really add suspense and a buddy to cover your back or something. Seems like the game is rather easy at this point?

I can't wait to see more game content from y'all!! This is one of the more unique ghost hunting games I've seen, really nicely thought out and well-made so far! I hope the devs keep putting the same kind of care into the future content they put out, cause from this I can tell it's a really lovingly made game! Really excited to see what the future holds ^^

Some suggestions for the devs; - Stockpiling items is the first thing I'd think of. With a team of 4, have everyone clear out all rooms and bring them all to the summoning circle and put as many on at once. This should be countered with the shuffle mechanic - maybe a small animation of the items sinking into the ground, just an indicator showing that the items have been moved back to their previous location and shuffled. - The chance of shuffling items should be lowered for 2 cursed items as it seems way to common especially for single player. To counter it ruining the difficulty curve, it should scale based on items held by all players, increasing until basically guaranteed at 4 items. A basic 10% 36% 75% and 100% chance curve would make it so it's less punishing but also dissuades carrying multiple items. You could get lucky and win the 1/3 with 2 items, but risking 3 would be a decision the players would have to make. An alternative would be making ghosts more aggressive/likely to appear if cursed items are held. So picking up a cursed item would trigger a ghost to spawn, carrying 2 would trigger 2 etc. With good play a player could avoid and survive this, but a larger team would likely see a teammate get killed because of this - especially if it's based on items held globally. - Flashlight needs a buff to it's light radius the overall brightness is fine. A nerf to the glowstick is also viable because at the minute the glowstick is competing with the flashlight. The glowstick also invalidates the card that glows. - It's not clear between green and blue. A darker blue or something else entirely like white would fix this. - The cross ability is too strong. The duration needs a nerf so that it can be used as a reaction to being found, rather than being used proactively. - The dog, as much as i love it is too strong. Having an additional carry spot pushes players towards stockpiling. The dog should find items, or lure away ghosts but not be able to hold items - as cute as it is. - The character that can see ghosts through walls is cool, but is not particularly helpful or strong as usually the ghost is hunting near you and it does nothing to protect you. Her vision ability could shift to seeing which rooms have cursed items, buff the duration of seeing the ghost, or assist with bonus objectives such as finding which room dolls are in. Any of these one changes are beneficial for the character and would see a lot more play. - Card girl might be okay in multiplayer but single player feels underwhelming. Maybe make her able to self-buff but only in single player. From there you can find out if she is weak or not. - Ghosts are visually unique but the game plays pretty much the same throughout. Maybe make the ghosts more versatile in how they control the map and what abilities they have to push players into different playstyles. The hand ghost for example might choose to guard specific rooms and become aggressive when players enter it. The watching ghost may become enraged and hunt if the player uses the looking glass whilst it's nearby. The crying ghost/blind ghost might become enraged and hunt if players make a lot of sound. You have a great base here with their unique designs to work off of, it's just a matter of fleshing out their uniqueness through mechanics. This will keep the game feeling fresh for longer. - Items are damn expensive. Inflation hit real hard huh. The cost of unlocking items should be lowered. If completing the basic objective and 1 side objective single player is the norm, then the cost of items should be based on the expected earnings for that kind of run. $120 for a basic win and 1 optional objective should be reflective of the cost of unlocking. Earning a basic flashlight should be the cheapest cost since it'll be what players gravitate towards. imo it should be $360 at most given that that's 3 wins worth. $400 for a flashlight is 4 games worth and that's too much given you need to then buy the flashlight afterwards. - Flashlight duration should be longer. imo it should be 1:1 to the generator so players have a passive way of checking the gen progress and it lasts longer. It should also last 75% of the way to someone completing all objectives other than dolls because they seem to be hard to spot. If a run takes 15 minutes all objectives, then the flashlight should last 10 minutes to create tension as the game is reaching its climax. - Glowstick I dont know what this does intuitively other than be a bad light source that doesnt stave off insanity. It should be worse than the flashlight and light card, but have some kind of utility. If it's just the basic light source for the very beginning that's fine, but it should be replaced rather quickly. - Talismans prevent hunts - how? It's not explicitly clear how this should work and therefore we see insym just not using them, electing to rely on the cross power and hide instead as it's a known variable. Make it explicitly clear how it works - whether it creates a safety room the ghost cant enter, if used near the ghost stopping the hunt or gives temporary protection. Part of this is not having a clear indication what effect is taking place when it is used. - Miasma, not clear where the miasma is spreading from. Make it so that rooms turn red, but dont have their own miasma - this will clearly allow players to pinpoint where the miasma is actually coming from, rather than running room to room to clear it. They then also get the option of clearing room by room to reach the miasma, or running towards it to quickly stop the spread. If the miasma room is cleansed, the red rooms should also go back to normal. - Shuffle can make players never enter the deepest parts of the house. The problem is that it randomly shuffles all items and respawns them. In theory players could game the system by carrying 2 cursed possessions to the circle to force a shuffle so that all the rooms they cleared out closer to the entrance have a higher chance of spawning cursed items. There is no clear way of fixing this to be honest. A combination might be the best option - when a shuffle is activated any additional held items are shuffled, whilst 1 or 2 of the untouched/unscanned items remain fixed in place. This would force players to have to actually explore deeper into the house and prevent players trying to get a reshuffle closer to the entrance. We saw this a lot with insym even though he was carrying 1 item just getting unlucky with his reshuffles. We barely saw the 2nd floor or deeper in the house where tensions are highest. I dont know how multiplayer works, but an easier solution to players skipping the difficulty curve is evening out the points of difficulty to a smoother curve with more points than 4 fixed points. What i mean by this is collecting more items per player, such as 4 items per player scattered across the map. Alternatively reducing the players ability to carry items by limiting inventory slots. Limiting inventory slots would feel worse imo but because there are more of you, each taking a useful item would make strategizing more viable. Likewise a combination here is also an option: Reducing the players carry capacity by 1, whilst spawning 3 items per player for a total of 12 for a team of 4. There is an issue that i dont think has been covered yet, but as far as i know there is nothing stopping players collecting all items in a room and dumping them on the circle. What i mean by this is that they dont even need to scan - each player could carry 0 utility items and clear a room out. This would be the most efficient way to play the game. This is why an inventory nerf might be necessary. Alternatively, a condition forcing players to scan an item before it can be successfully placed on the circle, or an instant hunt for placing the wrong item on the circle would counteract this.

loophole: Take ALL items in the house to the basement, THEN scan them all at once. Then burn one by one, and getting purple won't matter because they'll all be there already. Only hunts would be an issue. Also find all the dolls and such first thing as well.

I would love a ghost hunting game- such as this or phasmo- to have an event where if you aren't in the bathroom/ don't have a camera in the bathroom, the shower would turn on and you'd hear singing. If you ignore it nothing happens, but if you open the door and "try to peak" it starts an instant hunt.

Attention Developer: Great Program/Game, Pros: (1.) Well accented lighting in game from light sources and switches are lit so they can be found easily. (2.) Randomizing cursed in multiple locations is great, as they will never be in the same place. (3.) Lights, pulsing just enough time to switch one off, is awesome. (4.) Entities are designed nicely and help the immersion of the environment. (5.) Gameplay is simple to understand and interactions is user friendly, with no complexities causing a player to lose their mind with so much stuff to learn to play it. Okay Cons: 1.) Having the Green Glow stick causes color issues with other colors in game, hence the cursed items being burned displays visual confusion on green and blue flames. Alternative could be a white glow stick. 2.) Single Player Mode appears to have instant kills occurring (hand, entity spawning immediately after a hunt in the immediate area) Alternative, Single player mode could have a "rosary" to protect player from instant kills, which is pre-equipped, and eliminates the instant kill situation. 3.) A structure layout map would be helpful, so a player can find an effective hiding spot or room a bit faster. 4.) Inventory space could use an extra space or 2, for added objectives with dolls, suitcase, tools in game. 5.) The Flashlight unlocking and its use in the field is horrible, more light particles needed in graphics, at least similar to light sources in structure. The flash light is too dim and short lifespan. Additinal alterantives, Head lamp/visor lamp, preferably white light. Conclusion. Excellent build and gameplay, plenty of ways to be developed more over time. Some tweaks here and there, that is what all games require no matter what. You have a great platform, ideas in play, and they work together as a whole. Look at how much tweaking Conrad's ghost hunting game improved over time and then some. Now you get to have fun adding more scares, lore, tweaks, uprades, maps, atmosphere, sound and visual effects, and all that Jazz. Please stay focused on making it always user friendly, so everyone can enjoy it, even those of us whom have vision problems already, like glaucoma. But I still play as your game is not overly bright in any way. Thank you for revising this if you did. Looking forward to your game improvements. -----NOODLES

This game reminds me of Hellcoming, where it’s all about cleaning up like darkness or whatever and the ghost is just there to block you from doing it - which my friends and I played a lot - so more “task focused” rather than actual ghost hunting. I think this game is way too early access, as in I’m not sure which direction the dev wants to go in - task focused, and ghost is for the horror aspect; or if they want to invest more in the ghost activities (e.g. identification or more exorcisms) and add variety to it. I guess this might be one of the reasons for the early access? Regardless, I agree with Insym that the game has a good base and a lot of potential. Once the game gets a bit more mature, I’ll gladly purchase it with my friends so we can test it out!

I think what the play were to be if ya really wanted to cheese it is to pick up all the grabbable items and put them down there that way you don't have to worry about the purple effect randomizing them as you can just start chucking them if ya so wanted Also no duh you can't tell if it is blue or green you have no light on and the glowstick emits a green light in the first place making it literally impossible to tell which is which

Eventhough I have not played this game, I understand what Insym is getting at with the purple shuffle light mechanic. Let's set the example that you need to get 5 cursed items from a house that has 30 scannable items in it. You scanned 10 items and 2 of them were cursed. You toss in the first and it shuffles all of the items. And the second item you already found is shuffled as well so it no longer counts when you throw it in. This in turn leaves a house with 29 items to identify 4 items. Insym suggests that Instead of all of the items except the 1 you used to reshuffle. The ones you identified along with items you already scanned would remain as is while the unscanned items would reshuffle. The current system of reshuffliing all items insentivises players to find 1 item at a time. Because if they find multiple cursed items and try to carry them to the circle (while they are also limited by the items slots, mind you). They stand the chance to lose progress when the item they brought back is no longer cursed and on top of that have to rescan all the items again. Reshuffling is an interesting mechanic. But one that has to be carefully balanced. Suppose in the above example, the worse case scenario comes up when you have the last 2 cursed items you need. You toss in the first and it reshuffles the last item you have. Thus leaving you with the entire house to look for that 1 cursed item that you just had. It would feel punishing to be limited to 3 (or 4 slots) and lose the extra item you found. This may also make the dog more powerful if it were to find the reshuffled cursed item fast enough. From a game logic it does not make really sense for items to randomly become cursed and uncursed by the ghost. The unscanned items changing between cursed states makes sense though becuase these are items the player has yet to identify. There is a rule of thumb for game makers and game masters where they can tip the scales a bit when it comes to places or information not yet known to the player. If a player has not found a certain treasure room, and they might miss the original location you planned for the treasure to be in. Who is to say the player could not find a hidden room near the exit of the dungeon that leads to the treasure room. Or some other plot twist that still rewards the player for their skill and engagement with the game. But does not punsih them becuase they missed the mark you orignally had in mind. Back to reshuffling items. Players that gamble by looking for more cursed items would not need to be punished for juggling items with their limited item slots. While players that make use of the 1 item at a time method would be faced with the same predicament of looking for an item that would have been in room A, but got shuffled into room B instead.

To comment on Stockpiling. Argument for stockpiling. The limited inventory is already a design feature that helps discourage that. Even with multiplayer, the idea to counter a problem for a bigger group does not scale well when considering single player rounds (or even 2 players). The players still risk getting caught by the ghost when they explore more of the map when they collect cursed items. Arguments against stockpiling. Reshuffling may help prevent that. But it may not be as effective as other means. Namely have the ghost become more aggressive when players find more cursed items that have not been cleansed yet. Stockpiling in a larger group happens more often than smaller groups becuase more players mean they can cover more ground faster. In cases like that, it is best to find other counters to keep the game interesting for multiplayer. Either by limited the group size, or adding additional dangers when more players are involved. It would be more interresting to see a ghost become more aggressive when it has to take on more players, while smaller groups would not have to be as worried when encountering a less aggressive ghost. The difficulty scaling can be tied to the amount of cursed items found in the game. That, with the items found and burned for a more gradual scale.

This game has good bones! I cant wait to see what the dev cooks up. Shame for the flashlight though, that vending machine is borked. They definitely need a normal flashlight and maybe have it go out when the ghost is nearby or when cursed items are nearby, but having to earn that crap flashlight is lame.

I love this one, and that guy that made the Observation Duty meets ghost hunting game with the rehabilitated addict storyline; I'm gonna come back for those two games. Fantastic job, devs, I'm so glad to see people make games they clearly care about rather than just another ghost hunting Phasmo copy cash-grab. I think I'm gonna buy those two for myself, I gotta go find what the name of the other game is, though.

I don't agree with you Insym about when you get purple colour and only should reshuffle the the missing ones! I believe that would will be more easy because you know that you checked some rooms so you don't need to worry about that and that makes more easy. You might get luck to get the last curse item on the rooms you checked before who knows is random and there always a chance of spawning in the same room so what you said doesn't make much sense. I believe it was the Dev intention to do that to make you lose time to recheck again the same rooms to get the last curse item and in matter fact i can consider is hard because you are playing alone but if you play with more players it will be more easy to check the rooms.

"shuffle cursed objets is bugged" it changes which item is cursed and which is not, while it would be nice if they wouldnt get their glow back it could also make the cursed objects more obvious if "only" (in the areas already checked) those glow then Also if it were to be changed to the shuffle not including already checked items it would probably do nothing other than perhaps "uncursing" your already found cursed items

This doesn't really feel like a ghost hunting game, the ghost seems kind of incidental honestly. To anyone more familiar with the game than I am, does the ghost actually factor into gameplay at all? So far it feels more like backrooms where a bunch of unrelated vaguely creepy stuff happens while you do some random task.

imo it's more of like a scooby doo type scenario where the purpose is more to exorcise rather than identify? I dont think Insym showed it in the vid but theres a lil arcade at the lobby where you can see what each ghosts does since they all have different mechanics related to em

@@Thundawich the many eyes guy actually turns off lights and is very territorial about rooms he's "shrouding" (turning off the light in) you can have little light turning off contests with him, the little crawling gremlin takes your items and she can even steal your cross, there is now a mimic which only spawns in coop lobbies and lures friends by repeating voice lines. The way I see it personally is their take on a haunted abandoned house isn't "only one entity dominates this place" but more like many do so and I find that a bit more realistic. The game can definitely do with a lot more polishing right now and it can get a bit old since its so bare bones rn but the devs have been pretty epic about listening to feedback and implementing new stuff and I have high hopes for it

​@@murri3193 But that 'many' is what makes me feel like the ghost (and even the exorcism) is incidental. You're just doing your own thing, trying to stay out of the way of the assortment of things that want to kill you, something like backrooms or even lethal company.

I always think all ghost hunting games after Phasmo are rip offs of Phasmo. This one looks genuinely cool.
