Point Hope could be a lighthouse map, but Point Hope is an actual town in Alaska, and there was a lighthouse there, but not since the 1940s. I doubt the devs considered that much lore on a small town in Alaska though when creating a new level for their game. Something else interesting, but proabbly also unrelated, there is a Point hope in South Carolina with "an extremely haunted house" which is an old plantation house, i think it's recently been renovated though. Just something interesting.

The fact they might use a small town over a big plantation house makes more sense, most horror games i have seen HAPPEN IN SMALL TOWNS more than PLANTATIONS, there is nothing more scary that coming into a town and seeing NOTHING, nothing at all, at the dead of night, not an animal or being in sight, just wind and the occasional hoot of an owl, and you have to invesitgate all of buildings to understand "What in the ever burning heck happened here?!" and it will have massive amounts of lore to understand, another thing is, we already had a farm house map, restricted just to the farm house btw, so i doubt they will redo a very simple starter concept they had (Though it would be interesting due to the fact that they could make it like they upgraded the size of the map to all of it as well) but yeah, it's more likely for a small town than a plantation house

If you start from the P on the left side, it takes 3 steps clockwise to get to the next letter. So that's propably, why the HOPE is seemingly spelled counter clockwise, but makes more sense to read it with the 3 steps clockwise as well^^ Also there's a settlement in Alaska called Point Hope, so maybe something in such an area? Would be cool to have a snowy map, maybe even with a tent, boat or plane at the starting area, given that this settlement can't be reached by car.

I’m curious if the riddles themselves point more than towards the spots themselves. Assuming the lighthouse map, the ability to see the sunrise kinda suggests that. Same with the fire looking down in the case of the scarecrow. The maze portion wouldn’t make sense to include if it isn’t a reference to a feature of the map. Like the hedge maze idea your chat posted. Water above where hands must be seen? A waterfall with some rock feature. A basement room looking outside? Maybe something more akin to the camp map with interior and exterior portions being fair game for the ghost to roam and hunt. Or I could be over analyzing it lol

Thinking about the shapes, the word point is clearly a star like a pentagram but also a star like the sun. Hope being just a box threw me for a loop because point had such symbolism but when you brought up the fact about the lighthouse it made me think; Light from the 'point' star and house symbolized from the square that 'hope' spells. A map inspired by the Flannan Isles Lighthouse? 3 people disappeared at that place on the 26th of December 1900 and the case hasn't been solved. The best explaination was that 2 of them were at the docks when the third one saw a giant wave coming towards the shore from the window of the lightouse and ran to alert them, but the wave either caught all 3 people, or only caught 2 and the third one fell into the water while trying to save them. Either way the bodies were never found.

Consider the beach idea and the code made a 'star' and the letter 'C'. Star sea is a name for the phenomenon of bioluminescent beaches. It's a lighthouse on a bioluminescent beach!

I think there's a cemetery in Point Hope, Alaska that's lined with giant whale bones as a fence, and there were homes there that used to be constructed with or reinforced with whale bones too? Whaling was a huge resource in that area so they used a lot of whale parts for their community/economy. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that would certainly be a creepy place for a new map.
