THE BEST explanation of intarsia knitting, I cannot tell you how complicated some tutorials make this....SINCERELY....THANK YOU

This was the clearest, most helpful video I have viewed for intarsia. The mantra, “new under old, new under old” really helped me to keep it straight in my head. Thank you!!!

Love this video! The best example of intarsia knitting in the round! So clear. Your instructor, Mary-Beth Temple is fabulous. BUT I came across this video quite by accident. It did not come up in my search when I searched “knitting intarsia in the round” or “intarsia in the round”). After watching sooo many videos and not having a clear understanding of pattern/knitting chart transfer to the actual piece of knitted fabric. I have not seen an example of a non symmetrical pattern actually being followed and knit. I only chanced upon this video by searching “intarsia tutorial.” My point in writing this comment is that you would generate more views and happier, less frustrated knitters trying to learn intarsia in the round.

Thank you so much for this video! I didn’t know about just stitching in the smaller parts. This was giving me such trouble on a stocking pattern I was working. Great instructions.

At about 9:26 in the video, it looks like you have put the new color over the old….I am confused. 😊

May i know what do call that chart for planning of design

At 7:10 the yarns are not twisted properly together. The yarns should always twist around eachother counterclockwise and while yes the yarn is 'under', it fails to make a proper lock. Additionally, jumping 4 stitches with a color, especially in such a bulky yarn is quite the leap, and leads to creating essentially stranded colorwork. One must be very cognizant of their tension at such spots, or simply join a new strand of yarn at that section.

how do you determine how much yarn to put on the bobbin?
@igorminevich21215 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much!! This helps a lot! Quick question: I watched another video where she put the new yarn over the old rather than under. Does it matter which way you do it, or is it ok either way as long as you stay consistent?

So the purl row still counts as 1 ? I thought they're not
@mukashi2 жыл бұрын
Why the original white yarn couldn’t be used but the Bobbin (?) instead? Just for the size? But in such a big pattern there’s lots of white so wouldn’t it make sense to leave on the original ball of yarn? (Beginner question 🙋♀️)

im a beginner aswell but i think its because it would leave an ugly long line in the back or it just doesnt work.

Why do you not knit across the entire pillow with each row?

I love thisss. I have a question! Do you think I can used this pattern for Crochet?
@shawnthemom6 жыл бұрын
Angie Collazos Do you mean the chart pattern? If that’s what you’re talking about, you can use ANY chart pattern for crochet. I recommend looking up how to make color changes for crochet before you give it a try though, because like with knitting, if you don’t do it right, you can have holes where you don’t want holes and colors in areas you don’t want them.

Disappointed. I wanted to see you do row 57 and 59, it is like you only did the easy rows.
