LOL the toe tingle part cracked me up. It is pretty torturous haha. This challenge has been incredible so far - my lower back pain has decreased a ton and I truly feel much more flexible. Sad it's coming to an end but I'm 100% going to repeat the challenge again and again. Thanks sooo much, Devi!

Devi, I want to express my most sincere gratitude for providing this Yin Yoga challenge. This journey has been both transformative and healing, as well as very educational. I have noticed a significant decrease in my daily anxiety, an increase in both quality and quantity of restful sleep, a marked change in my lower, thoracic and cervical spine, and an increase in functional movements. I am excited to add Yin Yoga to my current movement / exercise routine. It is the perfect complement to my vinyasa practice and much needed after my strength training. Thank you for this wonderful nourishing gift of Yin. Namaste 🙏

Thanks for the info about Sphinx Pose. I always thought my body wasn't made for it because I felt the compression instead of a stretch. Now I know. 🙂

Oh I could feel your pain in toe tingle ! When I started yoga, this pose was unbearable more than a couple of seconds. Now, thanks to habit building and body adaptation, I can hold it way longer. Actually, I stood in this pose the whole time you were in caterpillar, bc I didn't want to stretch my injured hamstring (still this yoga butt... MRI in 3 wks to check if there is another problem in this area) 😉 Super relaxing class, thank you Devi🙏

I have been trying the toe pose for 25 years and at this point it's clearly not a matter of habit building or body adaptation. There's definitely a skeletal proportion issue: short tibia bone plus small ROM of my ankles both contribute to a less friendly angle for the toes. I actually use blocks under my knees to make the pose more tolerable, but didn't show it in this video since it's a block-free class... Good luck with your MRI! That yoga butt is persistent one.
@karinekmk929310 ай бұрын
@@DeviDalyYoga oh I'm sorry, I hadn't thought about body proportions playing a huge part in doing (or not) toes pose ! But you're definitely wayyyyy wiser than I am ! Yes, sitting on a block (or 2😉) can make it feel less intense. But there are probably many other painless ways to stretch your feet if you wish too (with a flat band stretch for example, you hold it, place it under one foot, pull a tad, and do flex-point several times. The other methods I know are impossible to explain with my poor english, I'm sorry🤐). MRI in on Feb, 21st, I'll let you know what's going on in this area ! !

Great! Thank you for offering this program. I was amused by your hon st handling of the "toe tingler pose". My teachers would advise that the poses you avoid are the ones you most need to work on, as they offer what you most need. I hope you find this advice beneficial.
@DeviDalyYoga10 ай бұрын
Thank you for the advice, but to be honest the Yin approach is quite the opposite of what you're suggesting. Instead of forcing our bodies into shapes that don't feel right because someone tells us it's good for us, we stay in touch with ourselves and allow our intuition to guide us. In my yin yoga teacher training, students learn that yin yogis have developed multiple poses for each body part, so that we have many options for our unique skeletal anatomy. Since several other ways exist to stretch the soles of the feet, toe tingle pose is simply not needed in my personal repertoire. I shared the pose in this video for yin beginners who might want to know it exists (and also perhaps for the entertainment value 😉). I'm sharing a longer than usual comment because it's important for my followers to understand that intuition and self-compassion are the essence of yin yoga. Be wary of any teacher who tells you it'll make you a better person to suffer through a pose that is painful or uncomfortable in your body. 🩵🙏
