then instead of writing (3)^2, you'd just write (sqrt(13))^2, and you would multiply the numerator by (sqrt(13))/(sqrt(13)). it's a little messier, but it's the same principle, whether you get a perfect square or not. hope that helps! :D

at 5:07 for the numerator, instead of (s - -2) -2 + 3 could you not just do s-2+5 ? Thank you in advance!!
@kristakingmath8 жыл бұрын
+waz9407 Those are the same thing, but the whole point is to try to get the fraction to match the form of the formula at the top, so that we can easily do the Laplace Transform. So it's actually more helpful to write it out the way I had it.

Great video . You think that in the future you could do something about the fourier series (since it would link well with taylor series and PDEs ) and the fourier transform, comparing it to the Laplace transform?
@JosePhMad201112 жыл бұрын
Sorry i got a small question if you could answer me .. why haven't you used this formula (e^-at cosbt = s+a/(s+a)^2+b^2) as it would give you straight solution. Is it because it's the inverse ?

Hello Dear, can you solve inverse laplace of 1/(s*sqrt(s+a)) ? Thank you.
@colinjava84479 жыл бұрын
Nice video, just two minor criticisms.. You don't really need to write - - 2 all the time, you can identify a as -2 at the end. And I didn't like the s - - 2 - 2 + 3 thing. I would have just said, we have s + 3, but need an s + 2, so just write (s + 2) + 1 Cause the level of maths is pretty high, people should be okay with this step. And same for the 1 * 3/3 thing.. I would have said, we have 1 but need a 3, so times by 3, and put a 1/3 outside. But I liked the video, do you have any videos using the actual formula for the inverse laplace transform, I remember it used a mad contour, but its been years since I did this stuff.
