When I took delivery of the 16V (that I no longer own), on the drive home I got caught in traffic and the car quickly started to overheat, eventually puking its coolant out. I was only a couple miles from where I picked it up and had the car towed back. We spent a couple hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually I found that the two-speed fan used a fuse under the glove box, not the fuse in the main fuse block. I tried to pull the correct fuse out and it was so dried out and brittle that the plastic broke apart in my fingers. Replaced the fuse and three hours after leaving the first time I was on my way home again. I made it that time.

About to have a go at this on mine, whilst the engine is out... Apparently this is common, when the fan comes on, the radio shuts off. i think Chris Harris managed to fix that on his. I have a switch on my dash that allows me to turn on the hi fan manually also (radio shuts off with this also), but never had overheating issues, even sitting in traffic in NYC summer, so might delete the switch and tidy everything up. As always, your videos are a massive help sir! Thank you!

The concept of the electricity running backwards through the fan first is difficult to understand. For me anyway!! All wiring diagrams are at berlinasportivo.com/pages/wshoplancia.php It is good to do it properly, you'll enjoy the challenge.
